Fancy a trip into outer space? Reservations are now open to orbit the earth, but you’ll need to dig deep.
Luxury travel company Roman & Erica, Inc has partnered with Axiom Space to take travellers on a journey to orbit the earth for ten days. While the ability to go to the edge of space isn’t entirely new, Axiom Space and Roman & Erica, Inc say this will be the first opportunity to orbit Earth. Departing in 2020, the trip will see you blast into space and hover approximately 400 kilometres above the earth.
Staying in purpose-designed modules, guests will have a 24-inch window to experience the views as well as internet access and video conferencing to keep in contact with those back home. They’ll also have access to virtual reality headsets and flat screens with advanced user interfaces and situational awareness, including a moving map of your location.
Roman and Erica, Inc co-founder Roman Chiporukha says its clients will be the travel pioneers of this generation. “Space travel in 100 years may become the new normal, but for now this unexplored terrain holds infinite possibilities for the consumer to experience.”
Costs start at around AU$75 million and you’ll need to undertake 15 weeks of training over two years in either the United States, Russia or Germany.
