Riviera Bistro, Berawa

The French Riviera has arrived in Berawa in the form of the Riviera Bistro, Bali’s newest beachfront Italian seafood and wine bar. The open-air restaurant offers modern takes on Mediterranean classics, along with a comprehensive drinks list that spans wines from around the world, signature cocktails and top-shelf spirits.

Dishes are designed to celebrate local and seasonal produce, including fresh-from-the-ocean seafood, with options like sea-bream crudo with orange and caviar and hand-cut pappardelle with slipper lobster, crab, tomato and mint ragu.

Sa’mesa, Canggu

With just one large table, securing a reservation at Sa’mesa might be harder said than done. But fortune favours the persistent – there’s a reason it’s been voted the best-rated new restaurant in Bali.

Serving authentic village-style Sardinian food, share style, Sa’mesa feels like a big dinner party in nonna’s kitchen. You’ll be rubbing shoulders with soon-to-be friends, bonding over more than just delicious dishes: expect dancing around the table, seat swapping and limoncello shots as the night goes on.

Kong, Canggu

Housed in a colonial-style building in Canggu, Kong delivers European elegance and bistro-chic dishes with a welcoming yet refined service. Opulent and moody interiors set the tone for the international, fine-dining menu, designed by Head Chef and previous Michelin-star winner, Kim Jonsson.

Wash down hand-cut beef tartare with a classic cocktail, before choosing between seafood, steak or bistro dishes such as coconut-poached salmon and a prime rib Wagyu burger. Finish the night off with a classic crème brulee, or enjoy a liquid dessert of a fine wine or digestif.

Santanera, Canggu

Latin America flavours and European influences come together in one of the most exciting openings in Canggu. Santanera’s multicultural melting pot is perfectly placed for connecting over cocktails while nibbling on tapas that hero organic, farm-to plate produce. The culinary skill of chefs Andres Becerra and German Rincon is on display – expect smoked, whipped, marinated and chargrilled delicacies from the land and sea to grace your plate.

The three-story space more than matches the spectacular fare, with an ocean-view rooftop, basement cellar and deli and light-dappled main restaurant, complete with indoor palms and oversized light shades.

Vincent Nigita Patisserie, Canggu

Voyage around the world with Vincent Nigita Patisserie's selection of a la carte dishes, choosing between the London-inspired Englishmen After Eight, Japanese-based Ballad of Kyoto or the chef’s signature: caramelized chocolate ‘Arlette’, truffle-infused chocolate, chocolate sea salt crumble, vanilla and cacao nibs ice cream and chocolate and cognac ganache.

If leaving your villa seems too hard, order Vincent’s desserts for delivery – they are bound to make any occasion feel even more special.

Take your pick in Pererenan

Two years ago, finding something delicious to eat in Pererenan was like finding a needle in a haystack. These days, it’s one of Bali’s most exciting areas for crafted coffee, refreshing cocktails and fresh flavours.

Start the day at Honey or Boheme for lattes and brunch, or settle in for a long lunch at Pescado Bali, feasting on paella and basque Cheesecake. Continue the European theme with antipasti, fresh pasta and Italian wines at Bottega Italiana Pererenan, or venture to the Middle East at Shelter Bali. The next morning, pop into Monsieur Spoon or Esperluette for picture-perfect pastries.

Atelier 5, Canggu

A Parisian patisserie isn’t the first thing you’d expect to find in rural Canggu, but when you come across Atelier 5, you’ll be pleased you did. With pastel tones, a breezy garden and uninterrupted views of Berawa, it’s the definition of a peaceful pastry paradise. Visit for breakfast or lunch to find a carefully crafted selection of savoury and sweet delicacies, including freshly baked croissants and viennoiserie, tarts, sandwiches and salads. Pair your choice with handcrafted tea for the perfect pick-me-up any time of day.
