Opened in February 2026, the first resort from Six & Six Private Islands offers a Maldives private island retreat that’s making waves for its playful approach to luxury. Spinner dolphins are part of the neighbourhood
Visit Rah Gili at the right time (November–April) and the waters are frequented by spinner dolphins, named for the rotating leaps that send them above the surface. Their presence gives the island a playful signature that no designer could reproduce.
Seasonal, weather-dependent outings search for pods in open water, with sightings left – as they should be – to the dolphins. Back at the island, the lagoon, house reef and surrounding dive sites keep the sea at the centre of each day.

Choosing dinner is part of the fun across Rah Gili’s six restaurants. At Tiffin (named after the traditional Indian tiered lunchbox), diners embark on a culinary odyssey through India, roaming from fiery northern dishes to the coconut-based curries of the south. Maakeyolhu looks to Maldivian fishing culture, serving grilled seafood and reef fish to the beat of Boduberu drums.
Teppan seats just eight people around its iron grill, where flames, knife work and the inevitable onion volcano turn dinner into theatre. La Tavola takes handmade pasta and wood-fired pizza over the water, while Juliette moves from sunrise breakfast to themed evenings with live music.

Every one of Rah Gili’s 74 spacious villas has a private pool, whether positioned along the beach or above the water. The overwater categories add a curved slide from the deck into the lagoon – ostensibly for children, though adults may claim it for themselves.
Sunset-facing villas angle their decks westward, while two-bedroom beach and overwater options give families and friends room to spread out. The design is polished, but the slide captures the resort’s personality best: the ocean isn’t just scenery here – it’s an invitation.
You can lower the tempo when the mood changes
Rah Gili does not stay at full volume all day. Five treatment rooms sit beside a breezy yoga pavilion, where sunrise sessions and sunset sound baths bookend the daylight.
Start with movement as the sky brightens, spend the afternoon in the lagoon, then let the pace soften as the sun drops. Back at your villa, the private pool offers the simplest way to disappear for an hour – no schedule, no soundtrack, just warm water and the sound of the sea lapping against the shore.
