But dig a little deeper and you’ll find that with 52km of sun-kissed coastline, dazzling skyscrapers, fine-dining restaurants and hiking trails, hidden wildlife, refreshing water holes and native Australian flora hidden in the rainforest hinterland, the Gold Coast is a treasure trove for romantics.

Dazzle with a glow worm tour
After dark, head inland to Springbrook National Parks’ Natural Bridge in the Numinbah Valley to be dazzled by the glowworm-covered caves. Grab your partner’s hand and head down the winding stairs into the spectacular caves, where you can gaze at these incredibly illuminated creatures that give off a magical starry night illusion. Keep an eye out along the way, as you might also spot some glistening glowworms between the rocks around the paths.
Boho-luxe picnic with alpacas
Is there anything as sweetly, straightforwardly romantic as a picnic? All you is clear skies, the right person by your side and… alpacas! Dine among the rolling vineyards of O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley with two adorable alpacas for company. Jive the night away in the ‘50s-themed American diner, complete with Cadillac couches, life-size statues of Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe, and a fully stocked candy bar, where you can grab a hotdog or classic choc-top.
