This Vietnam Resort is Perfect for a Self-Care Stay

TIA Wellness Resort is ideal for a stay that prioritises self-care - Luxury Escapes

This boutique wellness resort in Vietnam’s Da Nang invites you to move at a slower pace and recharge at every level.

Every aspect of TIA Wellness Resort exudes five-star tranquility: understated but luxurious decor and immaculate gardens, warm hospitality of the staff and the holistic wellness offerings. It delivers a truly restorative stay where the only decision you need to make is which massage you’d like today.

What’s the neighbourhood like?

TIA Wellness Resort occupies a stretch of beach in Da Nang on Vietnam’s central coast, 45 minutes by car from the city centre. Upon driving through the gates of this incredible property, cocooned as it is in lush greenery, you might forget where you are entirely. I certainly did, when I walked out onto the beach and did a double take when I saw tall buildings in the distance.

The grounds are so tranquil and peaceful you might not want to leave but, if you do, the colourful lanterns and heritage shop fronts of Hoi An Ancient Town are a 30-minute drive away.

Where am I sleeping?

I’m in a One-Bedroom Private Pool Villa, tucked away on the periphery of the resort, as all the villas are. The monochrome interiors maintain the yin and yang influence that’s echoed right throughout the resort, and the soft lighting, care of the tasseled lanterns on either side of the bed, provide a soothing ambiance. There’s a cosy living area, and a truly spectacular black, sunken bathtub in the ensuite bathroom – which overlooks the private garden and twinkling pool.

In my minibar is a selection of freshly brewed herbal iced teas, detox water with sliced citrus, and healthy snacks including dried fruit, cookies and seeded crackers. The wardrobe houses my plush bathrobe that becomes the (un)official uniform to move between the villa and the wellness centre and back.

What’s on the menu?

As a guest on the Retreat Inclusive package, I’m on a full-board plant-based meal plan which follows the resort’s ‘eat light, feel bright’ philosophy. And I can hand-on-heart say I never once felt hungry during my stay – the food was fresh, flavoursome and utterly delightful.

Breakfast is the biggest meal of the day, served in the moody interiors of The Dining Room, with a full buffet spread alongside a small a la carte menu. My pick? The Avo Power Boost – tofu scramble with sauteed spinach, pickled cucumber and roasted chickpeas. Not to be missed is the menu of signature Vietnamese iced coffees – I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the Himalaya Salted Coffee. Never have the words ‘I wake up for coffee’ been truer.

Lunch is a three-course, set-menu affair. I tuck into chilled tomato essence (a refreshing soup) with basil, garlic and red pepper to start, followed by sweet potato and chickpea patties with tahini, garlic sauce and a salad of avocado and mustard cress. I finish with a tropical tart of frozen fresh mango, lime and turmeric layered on a cookie base made of coconut and cashews.

Dinner is the smallest meal of the day, in order to give your digestion a break overnight. I start with the anti-aging fruit salad of grapes, berries and kiwi with lime and pomelo dressing – a surprising way to begin, but who am I to pass up the extra antioxidants? My second course is a raw lasagna of plant-based cheese, sun-dried tomato pesto and avocado between layers of sliced zucchini. Divine.

What sets TIA Wellness Resort apart when it comes to wellness?

TIA Wellness Resort has everything you’d expect from a wellness resort, from yoga and breathwork classes to special therapies including reiki, sound healing and hydrotherapy. There’s an extensive spa treatment menu – my favourite is the 80-minute Deep Connection Remedy. This was booked in for my first night and the sleep I had that night was unmatched.

But a surprising addition to the wellness menu is TIA’s creative workshops. Bordering on art therapy, the workshops encourage reflection and self-enquiry through drawing, painting and collage. I put pen and paint to paper to reflect on my past and future self, and created a vision board to manifest my dreams for the rest of the year – there might have been a sneaky image glued down to imply a return visit. It was a refreshingly holistic way to round out my stay.

Who will love TIA Wellness Resort?

If you’re after a full mind-body-spirit recharge, or even just time to pause and disconnect, consider checking-in at TIA Wellness Resort. You’ll feel yourself relax from the moment the welcome cup of butterfly pea tea is poured, and the feeling will last long after you’ve checked out. There’s a generous number of classes, treatments and therapies to choose from – and the list continues to expand.

TIA Wellness Resort offers Wellness Inclusive, Retreat Inclusive and Private Retreat packages, allowing guests to customise their stay based on their individual preferences, and indulge in daily wellness treatments alongside masterclasses and creative workshops.
