Where every day is an event
The fate of Australia’s very own Oscar Piastri was decided in a nail-biting final F1 race at the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this year. This thrilling event takes place on the purpose built F1 circuit on Yas Island, but there’s also a lot of action off-track with concerts, after-race parties and cultural events.
Ferrari World has your family Christmas sorted with Winterfest, a huge celebration that includes a tree lighting ceremony and advent calendar giveaway. They also have a Snow Playground for the kids and ice-skating rink.
On the Yas Marina, you can take the family for a sailing lesson at the Sailing Academy, learn to wakeboard at EYWOA extreme water sports school or simply play and dance at the musical water fountain.
Shopping, dining and relaxing
Yas Mall is the premier shopping destination in Abu Dhabi packed with high-end international retailers and exciting local finds. There is fantastic entertainment for the kids at KidZania AbuDhabi and Fun Works.
Dining out on Yas Island means you are spoilt for choice with waterfront fine diners, family-friendly beach cafes and speedy fast food. Asia Asia has a menu inspired by the ancient spice routes of the Far East, Belgian Café Yas Island offers moules frites (mussels and French fries) and Belgian beers in the wood-panelled surrounds of the Radisson Blu, and Amerigos is Mexican-inspired fare with a menu that hits all the classics: fajitas, quesadillas, churros and more.
