New York Times Lists Two Australian Cities as 2024 Must-Sees

New York Times names Tasmania and Brisbane among its top 52 places to travel in 2024.

There’s more to Australia than Melbourne and Sydney, according to the New York Times. 

Long-underrated Tasmania and foodie hub Brisbane have each landed a spot on the publication’s list of ‘52 Places to Go in 2024’. As the only two Australian destinations to make the coveted annual countdown, these hotspots join the prestigious company of romantic mainstays from Paris to Valencia. Tasmania’s vast wilderness offers travellers a look at Australia’s natural diversity, while Brisbane’s thriving arts scene and culinary culture lend it a cool cosmopolitan charm.  

Other top destinations featured on the list include the Camino de Costa Rica hiking trail, the historic artworks of Massa-Carrara in Tuscany, and the scenic gardens of Yamaguchi, Japan.
