Melbourne Airport Reigns Supreme in Global Airport Rankings for Australia and the Pacific
Travellers from around the world have acknowledged Melbourne Airport’s excellence in the largest, annual global airport customer satisfaction survey.
Melbourne Airport has been named the best airport in Australia and the Pacific for the second year running at the Skytrax 2024 World Airport Awards. For the fourth time in five years, the Victorian hub has emerged victorious over Sydney Airport, the busiest in Australia.
Ranking 19th overall, Melbourne Airport has attributed its win to the work of its staff.
“Whether you work as CEO or a cleaner, customer service or construction everyone at Melbourne Airport is committed to giving our travellers the best experience we can,” said Melbourne Airport CEO Lorie Argus. “In the past 12 months we’ve been proud to open new restaurants, retail outlets and toilets, while also planning for future growth with a new runway, new roads and other terminal enhancements.”
Australia secured another victory as Adelaide Airport clinched the title of Best Regional Airport in the Australian and Pacific region for the second time in three years, followed closely by the Gold Coast, Christchurch and Wellington.
Doha’s Hamad International Airport has been crowned the World’s Best Airport, pushing 12-time victor Singapore Changi Airport to second place. Hamad International Airport also won awards for the World’s Best Airport Shopping and the Best Airport in the Middle East.
