The Bali Hotel Where Even the Smallest Room Feels Like an Upgrade

A 120-metre beachfront pool, a Prohibition-era steakhouse and one of Bali’s largest rooftop bars – this is Seminyak done properly.

Double-Six is one of Luxury Escapes’ most consistently popular Bali stays. The reason is straightforward: it delivers exactly what a Seminyak escape should – generous suites, food worth staying in for, and a rooftop with a 180-degree ocean view that runs from first coffee to last drinks. Nothing feels like an afterthought. Guests come back because it works.

Here’s why you need to experience Double-Six Luxury Hotel for yourself.

You’ll eat here more than you planned

On the fourth floor, a spiral staircase descends into The Plantation Grill: marble finishes, a vaulted double-height ceiling, leather booths, and huge glass windows facing the sea. The kitchen’s focus is dry-aged, exclusively sourced imported meat and line-caught sustainable seafood, cooked over custom coal and wood grills and wood-fired ovens. Desserts arrive via a 1920s-style trolley – one of those small theatrical touches that lands better than it has any right to.

For lighter evenings, Suzie-Q on the second floor takes a shared-plates approach to modern Asian cooking – tuna sashimi, beef rendang – overlooking the length of the pool. Pallas Greek Taverna, at sister property Blu-Zea a short drive away, adds another option worth knowing about on a longer stay.

It has one of Bali’s largest rooftop bars

The Double-Six Rooftop Sunset Bar covers 1,700 square metres and is among the largest in Bali, but what distinguishes it is the full-day programme. Mornings bring both a buffet and made-to-order breakfast – the only venue in Seminyak doing both simultaneously, across 66 menu items. By 5pm it transitions into cocktails, locally inspired drinks and international entertainment acts, with guests settling into floating pods and private areas as the sun drops into the Indian Ocean.

It’s a rare rooftop that earns its place at both ends of the day.

The entry suite is more akin to an apartment

Across 146 suites and 11 categories, every room starts generous – the kind of space where you can leave your suitcase open on the floor and still not feel like you’re living out of it. The Deluxe Suite Ocean View adds a private balcony facing the water with a dual-basin bathroom; the Deluxe Suite Plunge Pool gives you your own pool and sun lounger for the days you don’t want to share.

For families, the Two-Bedroom Deluxe Suite Ocean View comfortably sleeps five across two bathrooms and a balcony – children under 17 stay free. The 66 Penthouse, at the top, is a different proposition entirely: three bedrooms, three bathrooms, an al fresco terrace with a jacuzzi, and 24-hour butler service. Enough room for the extended family, the group chat, and everyone’s luggage. If that’s more than you need, the city and ocean view penthouses sit below it – two floors, two bedrooms, a private terrace, and rather a lot of breathing room.

Step off the beach, straight into the pool

Double-Six sits directly on its namesake beach, the 120-metre lagoon pool running almost to the waterline. Eat Street and Potato Head Beach Club are a short drive; the airport is about 20 minutes. It’s Seminyak’s social centre, which means noise comes with the territory for lower-floor ocean-facing suites – though for most guests who make the trip, that energy is exactly what they came for.

The moments between meals are worth planning around too

The Acqua Perla Spa covers Balinese massage, facials, a dedicated nail spa, spring-water hair treatments, and a fully equipped gym. Afternoons between 2:30pm and 5pm bring Tea Time across the lagoon deck and Suzie-Q – sweet and savoury plates that earn their place in the day without demanding too much of it.

The Lagoon Bar sits tucked into the 120-metre beachfront pool from 8am to 8pm. The welcome drink on arrival is a pineapple granita, served here. For late departures, the Owners Lounge is accessible from checkout until 11pm – butler-serviced, with showers, lockers, massage chairs and free-flow drinks. A late flight doesn’t have to mean an early end.
