Coming Soon: Sydney’s First 25hours hotel to Open in Paddington
One of Sydney’s leading property developers is bringing a fresh and vibrant hotel concept to the heart of Paddington.
Central Element (CE) property development, in collaboration with Boston Global Group, is gearing up to break ground on Australia’s first 25hours hotel, set to open its doors in December 2024. Situated in the heart of the Oxford Street Village Centre, this unique hotel will occupy the heritage-listed site of the former West Olympia Theatre.
Under the umbrella of Ennismore’s 25hours hotel brand, which sits within the Accor portfolio, the 109-room stay is set to redefine the hospitality experience.
This upcoming addition to Sydney‘s accommodation offering will feature a ground-floor cafe, a destination restaurant and bar, four levels of boutique hotel accommodation, and a rooftop bar with panoramic views of Oxford Street, Sydney’s eastern suburbs and the Sydney Harbour. It will also have three ground floor and subterranean retailers, including a wellness facility. A large landscaped central courtyard has been designed to host live events.
CE also plans to transform the historic 1-11 Oxford Street Paddington into a lifestyle precinct, marking a new era for the location. Originally housing Marshall’s Paddington Brewery, the site has undergone several facelifts in recent years, including its stint as West Olympia Pictures, a beloved destination for movie enthusiasts for nearly five decades. In the 1990s, the site was overhauled into the Grand Pacific Blue Room, one of Sydney’s hottest nightclubs. Now, under the creative direction of award-winning architect Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, the adaptive works will restore and integrate the West Olympia Theatre’s recognisable facade into the upscale boutique hotel.
