The Turtle Care Project
Did you know that the beaches of Oman are breeding sites for five different species of sea turtles? You can see this miracle of life happen at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa.
Fully committed to the environment, the resort has an Eco Centre that runs the Turtle Care Project, focusing on protecting the endangered hawksbill and green turtle species native to the area. The resort’s dedicated Turtle Ranger provides educational talks, and guests can even witness the hatching of these turtles (March–September). A truly special experience is to see the hatchlings emerge and get acquainted with their new home in the sea. (Please note: strict guidelines to be followed to avoid any harm to the turtles).
