Awaken to the call of African wildlife and spend the next two days embracing the magic of Livingstone, with bespoke experiences tailored to your interests. For the next two days, the choice is yours. Either enjoy days at leisure or create your itinerary from the wide array of activities on offer.
Your options include:
- Game drives through Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, home to elephants, impalas, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, zebras and more. Try spotting them all from the comfort of a custom-built 4x4 vehicle.
- Take off on a tropical fishing trip from your lodge (seasonal activity, March to December).
- Set out on a ‘Flight of Angels’ scenic helicopter experience – a helicopter tour over the world-famous Victoria Falls (at additional cost).
- Join a scenic walking tour of Victoria Falls, situated a short distance away. Listen to the waters roar as you approach, be amazed by a cloud of brilliant spray where the mile-wide Upper Zambezi falls 100 metres into the Lower Zambezi, and gaze upon rainbows spouting up from below and collapsing in the tropical sunlight.
- Experience the African wildlife, bush and ecosystem on foot during a two-hour morning, afternoon or sundowner walking safari. Gain a completely different perspective from the conventional view you’d have on a safari vehicle as you are accompanied by two highly trained professional guides, who have a combined walking safari experience of more than 20 years. You will also be accompanied by an armed National Parks Ranger.
- Enjoy the afternoon on a Zambezi River cruise. On Sanctuary’s specially designed boat, you’ll be guided through a series of grade-two rapids before finding a spot on the beach for a cocktail break.
- Visit Nakatindi village, located 5km from the sanctuary. Here, you will be given the opportunity to visit local projects aimed at improving education, conservation, health and enterprise, all sponsored by Sanctuary Retreats. You will also visit Nakatindi Community School and Chipego Bike Shop, where you can hire bicycles to use for a tour of the village.
- Discover why Livingstone is known as the ‘Adventure Capital of Africa’ on a thrilling white water rafting experience. Ride Grade 5 currents on the Zambezi Waterfront before cooling off with chilled drinks and a waterfront lunch (at additional cost).
- Enjoy an afternoon walk through the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls. The 90-minute experience will be guided by a local expert who will share the area’s rich history with you. Stop at various viewing points as you take in this formidable natural sight (at additional cost).
In the evenings, freshen up before enjoying dinner at the lodge.

Much of today will be spent exploring Chobe National Park. During the morning and afternoon game drives, learn of the rich ecosystems of the park, which lend themselves to an astonishing diversity of flora, as well as an array of stunning landscapes and, of course, spectacular wild animals.
Watch for elephants feeding and washing, spot stampeding herds of buffalo, keep an eye out for hyenas hiding from majestic lions and encounter up to 16 types of antelopes, including the rare, semi-aquatic puku, red lechwe and sitatunga. Depending on the season, you may also catch the second-largest migration of zebra in Africa.
Between your explorations, choose to relax in the luxurious surrounds of your thatched suite or unwind by the pool and take a cooling dip. You may also choose to delight in some of the extra activities offered by the lodge at an additional cost, including a catch-and-release fishing excursion through the Chobe area (fishing activity is weather dependent and seasonally available).
As the day comes to an end, a sundowner cruise will allow you to see buffalo up close as they graze in the cooler night air.
