Your cruise begins and ends in Tokyo (Yokohama).
Your cruise departs Yokohama International Passenger Terminal at 4pm on Day 3 and returns to Yokohama International Passenger Terminal at 6.30am on Day 13. More information about boarding times will be provided to you after booking. Please ensure you arrive in time for boarding.
Your Tokyo accommodation is approximately 2 hours from Yokohama. A transfer to the ship from your pre-cruise accommodation is included on Day 3 only. Transfers from the airport to your pre-cruise stay on Day 1, and from the ship to the airport on Day 13, are not included. Please plan accordingly.

Day 1: Tokyo, Japan
Unravel the unique tapestry of Japan, from ancient Samurai culture to modern Japanese anime, beginning with a two-night pre-cruise stay in Tokyo.
On arrival, make your own way to the five-star Hilton Tokyo Odaiba. You’ll find that the wonders of Japan are even more delightful when you’re ensconced in the comfort and luxury afforded by this centrally located hotel. Situated with Rainbow Bridge views in Tokyo Bay you’ll find yourself only a stone’s throw from the bright lights of Ginza and next to Daiba Station, you can be anywhere in the city well within 30 minutes.

Day 2: Tokyo, Japan
Enjoy a full day in Tokyo to lose yourself in the electrifying atmosphere of the city, where neon-lit streets and hanging lanterns light the path into an unforgettable evening. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining, with a wealth of incredible restaurants to uncover, whether you’re looking for fine dining or a cheap street eat.
This evening, indulge in a Japanese food tour, starting at Depachika for a variety of dishes and traditional sweets. Explore Ginza at night, visit “Monja” Street to enjoy Monja-yaki, then head to Yakitori Alley for yakitori and sake. End the tour with tips on local bars or karaoke spots to continue your night.

Day 3: Tokyo (Yokohama), Japan – Cruise Embarkation
The Diamond Princess® departs Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal at 4pm, giving you the perfect half-day to continue exploring the city. This afternoon catch your included transfer to Yokohama port – once a sleepy fishing village – where your ship, the Diamond Princess®, awaits. As your ship sets sail, settle into your stateroom before venturing out to one of the several onboard restaurants and bars.

Day 4: At Sea
Spend the next day sailing in style as you familiarise yourself with the Diamond Princess®. Otaru, Japan, is a cozy harbour town and the gateway to Sapporo. Developed in the 19th century, Otaru is famed for its fine sushi and historic architecture that can be experienced first-hand by visiting the Otaru-shi Nishin Goden (herring mansion). Less than an hour away, the capital of Hokkaido, Sapporo blends urban sensibilities with mountainscapes, hot springs, and natural spaces like Odori Park. Explore the Village of Hokkaido, the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, and the Sapporo Beer Museum before returning to the Diamond Princess® in the early evening.

Pull into Shimizu port this morning, home to the iconic and instantly recognisable Mount Fuji. Admire the pine groves of Miho or ascend the lush hillside of Nihondaira, where you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the mighty mountain. History buffs will delight in a visit to the archaeological site of Toro, where you’ll gain a glimpse into feudal life in Japan, 200BC. Before re-boarding your ship, you might like to check out the traditional Japanese wooden handicrafts (in case you’ve yet to pick up a souvenir). Don’t miss out on a chance to sample yokan, a local, sweet jelly candy.

With a long history as one of Japan’s most prominent – and, at times, only – foreign ports, Yokohama offers plenty of interesting sights, including the country’s largest Chinatown. Disembark after breakfast and either continue your journey to Narita or Haneda Airport or head into Tokyo, just an hour away by train.
