Important:

  • Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the tour start time for check-in
  • This activity is not available to children under 5
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. A minimum of one adult to every two children is required
  • Warm clothing is essential on all tours regardless of the season as night temperatures can get very low in Takapō. A jacket, hat and plenty of warm layers are recommended
  • Tours are conducted outside if weather permits. Participants need to be confident walking 100 metres on a gravel incline and be able to climb a couple of steps in the dark
  • Strong, sturdy footwear is advisable as there is minimal lighting and the terrain is uneven

Terms & Conditions:

  • Bookings must be made at least 14 days in advance
  • Translations on English tours are not permitted
  • This experience is a weather-dependent activity. If it is not possible to observe due to weather, then an alternative indoor experience may be offered in the purpose-built technological and interactive venue, with guests entitled to a partial refund
  • To minimise light pollution, guests are prohibited from using, or bringing, any white lights, including but not limited to LCD screens, flash photography, illuminated mobile phones, flashlights, torches, light up shoes etc.
  • If guests are considered to be under the influence of alcohol, causing undue disruption or negatively impacting other guest’s experience, they may be removed from the experience at Dark Sky Project’s discretion. In this instance, no refund will be given
