Laguna Beach, Anaheim - Luxury Escapes

With a vibrant craft beer scene, world-class shopping and sports culture – why not go beyond Main Street on your next visit to Anaheim?

When most people think of Anaheim, California, memories of The Happiest Place on Earth are top of mind. While the magic of Disneyland Resort is undeniable, there’s so much more to this Southern California gem than The House of Mouse.

Whether you’re visiting for a week or longer, here’s why you need to check out Anaheim, California.

1. It’s a launchpad for some of the world’s best theme parks

This sunny city is best known for Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure, but did you know it’s also a gateway to other world-renowned theme parks? Knott’s Berry Farm, California’s oldest amusement park, and accompanying Soak City Water Park are just a stone’s throw away. If you’re up for a short drive, you can reach Universal Studios Hollywood, take a behind-the-scenes look at Warner Bros. Studios, or visit family favourites like LEGOLAND California, SeaWorld San Diego, and the famous San Diego Zoo, all within 90 minutes.

2. It’s a shopper’s dream

From high-end luxury to bargain finds, retail therapy is the added fairy dust to the magic in Anaheim. South Coast Plaza is a world-class destination with more than 250 designer stores, including CHANEL and Louis Vuitton, while Fashion Island blends upscale shopping with ocean views. If you’re on the hunt for offers, check out Citadel Outlets or the Outlets at Orange. Whether you’re looking for the latest designer trends or great outlet prices, Anaheim delivers retail therapy at its finest.

3. It’s hipster-approved with more than 20 craft breweries

Anaheim has evolved into a craft beer hotspot with more than 20 breweries, tiki bars, and speakeasies to sink your teeth into. You can sip your way through a self-guided bar crawl, hitting spots like the family-friendly Golden Road Brewery, pub-diner Villains Brewing Co. and Ballast Point. For a twist, check out the tropical vibes at Strong Water – whose Mexican-inspired ‘Serpent’s Grasp’ cocktail was awarded Best New Cocktail 2024 by Orange Coast Mag – or the Disney-themed Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. If you’re into hidden gems, the city’s first speakeasy, The Blind Rabbit, will take your night out to the next level.

4. It’s home to all-American sports

Anaheim is a sports lover’s paradise. For baseball fans, Angel Stadium is the place to catch an exciting game – it’s also the home venue of the Los Angeles Angels. Ice hockey enthusiasts can join the fun at the Honda Center, home of the legendary Anaheim Ducks. More of a casual fan than a diehard supporter? There’s still plenty to keep your energy up in these renowned stadiums, including dozens of eateries, bars and breweries just a short walk from the stands.

5. It’s an easy day trip to spectacular beaches or Highway 1

If you’re craving some fresh air and beautiful views, the city is in a prime location for day trips into greater California. Head to famous coastlines nearby like Huntington ‘Surf City’ Beach or walk through the colourful Heisler Park, overlooking Laguna Beach’s sandy strip. For a more rugged adventure, drive out to the cactus-strewn landscapes of Joshua Tree National Park or take a boat trip to the palm-lined resort towns on Catalina Island.

6. It has a cool rooftop dining scene

Anaheim’s food scene is as diverse as its entertainment, and the city is home to some of the coolest rooftop dining spots in Southern California. Enjoy sweeping views and delicious bites at The FIFTH, RISE Rooftop Lounge, Parkestry Rooftop Bar, or Top of the V (part of The Viv Hotel). If you can’t choose just one cuisine, head to the Anaheim Packing District – a historic food hall packed with local and international flavours like Cajun seafood boils, Indian fusion, southern soul food and tiki cantinas. If you’re in the mood for authentic Asian cuisine, Little Saigon is just a short drive away.
