Wir waren sehr begeistert. Wunderschönes Hotel, sehr gut ausgestattete Zimmer. Freundliches Personal. Für Italien ein sehr umfangreiches Frühstück. Tolle Rooftopbar. Luxuriöses Spa. Zentrale aber ruhige Lage!

We stayed for one night and managed to see all the main monuments, including the Colosseum. The location was just perfect for exploring the city. We didn’t use the spa as we had already enjoyed one at our previous hotel, but we absolutely loved the beautiful mural on the bedroom ceiling – it gave such an authentic Roman feel. Highly recommend for a short stay in Rome.

We loved the location. It is close to all amenities.

The 1887 palace gives you a sense of place

The hotel’s 19th-century setting gives it a different feel from a contemporary city hotel. Frescoes, paintings, statues and decorative details lend the interiors a distinctly historic character, while the central location makes it easy to head out and explore.

The Ludovisi district also has its own story. Developed after Rome became the capital of Italy, it grew around broad streets, grand residences, cafes and hotels.

You can take aperitivo upstairs at Aria Rooftop

At Aria Rooftop, you can settle in above the city for live music, signature cocktails and Italian delicacies, with views towards Rome’s monuments. The rooftop is seasonal, so check its opening when planning your stay. It’s a handy change of pace: an evening here can start with a view rather than another trip across town. For a daytime counterpart, breakfast is served on the seventh floor, where guests can eat with a panoramic view.

RomAmor Spa offers a slower interlude

After a day on foot, RomAmor Spa brings the focus back indoors. A hydromassage pool, sauna, Turkish bath, Finnish shower and relaxation area await for pampering in between sightseeing. The contrast suits a Rome itinerary: long stretches spent among piazzas, churches and galleries, followed by time to unwind without needing to plan another outing. There’s also a gym on site for guests who want to keep up a regular routine while travelling.

A very quiet little hotel. Close to many beautiful restaurants. Pleasant staff but the breakfast needs an upgrade

The Loly hotel was situated in a quiet area but not far from the main sights and also close to bars and restaurants. The room was lovely and the staff so helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend

A bit out of the lively part of Trastevere but a few nice bars and restaurants very local. Not as luxury as I was expecting but a nice hotel nonetheless. The rooftop bar was closed as out of season which was a shame as the weather was lovely. Rooms are a bit dark as the sun doesn't really hit the balcony/terrace due to tall buildings next door. Food in the restaurant was very nice and the extras with LE were a nice touch especially the free drinks and 10% off at Bar Della Place which was a great restaurant.

Unfortunately there were ants in our bathroom 😞

Via Veneto brings Rome’s Dolce Vita history within reach

From the hotel, it’s a short walk to Via Veneto, the grand promenade that became synonymous with Rome’s Dolce Vita years. Its cafés and hotels once drew film stars and paparazzi; today, its stately façades and leafy pavements make for an enjoyable stroll towards Villa Borghese.

Villa Borghese makes room for a greener side of Rome

About 10 minutes on foot from the hotel, Villa Borghese is a welcome change of pace from the city’s busy streets. Wander its tree-lined paths and gardens, or visit the Borghese Gallery, known for its collection of paintings and sculptures.

You can combine the park with a walk along Via Veneto, then save another day for the Spanish Steps or Trevi Fountain, both around a 15- to 20-minute walk away. It’s an easy location for mixing Rome’s best-known sights with slower moments between them.
