These New Silk Road Luxury Train Journeys Look Epic

Golden Eagle Luxury Trains has unveiled their new Silk Road train, with three exclusive itineraries.

Golden Eagle Luxury Trains is set to unveil the ancient mysteries of the storied Silk Road, with three exclusive new itineraries for 2026.

Spanning from China to Turkey, this historic trade network connected East and West for more than 1,500 years, with silks, spices and even ideologies exchanged along the route. Laced with mystique, UNESCO World Heritage-listed treasures and diverse landscapes, from the Gobi Desert to the Pamir Mountains, the region holds eternal intrigue for intrepid travellers.

The brand is renowned for offering one-of-a-kind luxury and immersive experiences in far-flung destinations off the beaten (train) track, and this new addition to the fleet is no exception. Every element of the ornate Golden Eagle Silk Road Express has been meticulously considered, from the Bar Lounge Car rendered in mahogany and rich, jewel-like crimson tones (at its heart, a showpiece Bösendorfer piano), to the luxurious suites and cabins, where Dyson hairdryers come as standard. Guests can admire 270-degree views from the ornate observation car, exquisitely decorated to reflect the history of ancient Chang’an.

The 22-day Grand Silk Road Voyage (which splits time on the new train and the original Golden Eagle) spans from China’s imperial capital of Beijing to Uzbekistan’s Bukhara and beyond, while the 13-day China and Tibet Rail Discovery itinerary traverses from China to the Tibetan wilderness. Again beginning in Beijing, Ancient China by Private Train journeys through imperial cities and deserts, via the Great Wall and Mogao Caves.
