Holly Kingston’s Guide to Greece
TV personality and influencer Holly Kingston (and co-host of the new season of Luxury Escapes: The World’s Best Holidays) shares her top tips and favourite spots in Greece.
Holly Kingston is all about keeping ahead of the trends, but if there’s one thing that will never go out of style, it’s the Greek Islands. On her travels through Greece for the all-new season of Luxury Escapes: The World’s Best Holidays, Holly cuts right to the heart of what makes these legendary islands so worth the hype. Whether it’s world-renowned sunsets, staying in five-star cliffside luxury or visiting a taverna that serves up grilled octopus so fresh and delicious, it’ll have you booking a flight back for just one more bite, these are her unforgettable Greece moments.

LE: How would you describe Greece in three words?
HK: Relaxing, warm and cultural.
LE: What is the one experience every visitor to Greece needs to have?
HK: In my opinion, you can’t go to Greece without a trip to the islands. These would have to be up there as one of my favourite places on Earth.
Paros is a strong contender, while Santorini is just pure magic. You can definitely see why Santorini is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in the world. It’s all about getting lost in the cobblestone streets and lounging by the pool during the day, and watching the sunsets from a taverna at night.
My top two musts in Greece: watch a sunset from Oia in Santorini, go for a horse ride along one of the stunning beaches and hire a boat for the day to explore the blue waters of the many Greek islands.
LE: Tell us what you can expect from a stay at Nobu Santorini.
HK: Our stay at Nobu Santorini certainly lived up to the Nobu name, luxurious but with a thought-out ’boutique’ feel. A stay at Nobu obviously wouldn’t be complete without an abundance of delicious, fresh Japanese sushi, but it was the breathtaking panoramic views right on top of the Caldera and the cosy (all white of course) rooms that made our stay unforgettable.
LE: Name the best sunset spot in Santorini.
HK: You truly can’t go wrong with just about anywhere in Oia… it’s spectacular. My most memorable sunsets were at our accommodation, Santo Pure, in Oia. It was all about live music by the pool, yummy cocktails and the most spectacular sunsets over the Aegean Sea.
LE: Which restaurant would you recommend for an authentic Greek dining experience?
HK: Metaxi Mas. We visited this hilltop gem for the show, and I loved it so much I made a booking for my actual honeymoon a few months later. Authentic Greek cuisine with spectacular views over the hills. A whole different experience to dining in the busy streets of Oia or Fira. I will forever dream of that octopus and moussaka!
LE: Which destinations will be next on your Greece wishlist?
HK: Next on the bucket list: Naxos, Milos, Mykonos (for my honeymoon) and I will be returning to Paros someday soon I hope!
