Availability:

• Available every day: 8.30am–5pm. Additional departure times may be added due to demand
• Bookings valid to 17 March 2026
• Departure/Return Point: The Shire’s Rest, 501 Buckland Rd, Matamata 3472
• Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. Upon arrival, report to the The Shire’s Rest ticketing centre for check-in. Check-in closes five minutes before the scheduled departure time
• If you do not check in on time, your booking may be moved to the next available tour. Please note, this is not guaranteed and the next available tour may be on an alternate date

Important:

• Maintenance and Restoration Notice (1 June to 30 September 2025): During this period, construction and maintenance equipment and noise is expected. Tours will continue as normal but will take an alternate route around the construction zone, while being able to get a glimpse of the work that goes into keeping Hobbiton Movie Set as magical as it looked in the films.
• Bookings essential and subject to availability – there is limited availability for high-season periods. It is recommended you book as far in advance as possible
• Your experience includes one drink per person from The Green Dragon Inn’s ‘Southfarthing’ brew range. Any excess amount must be paid directly to Hobbiton Movie Set
• Smoking and vaping is not permitted during the tour experience but is permitted in designated smoking areas at The Green Dragon Inn
• Please allow up to three hours for this experience, including travel time

Terms & Conditions:

• Youth rate applies for children aged 11–17. Children aged 10 and under are free of charge but are still required to be listed when booking. Please ensure you book a ticket for all children travelling in your group
• Children aged 14 years or younger must be accompanied by a paying adult
• Must be aged 18+ for alcohol consumption and provide valid ID upon request
• Maximum group size 41 guests per tour
• Itinerary is subject to change depending on availability, weather and road conditions
• Minimum numbers apply for tour to proceed. If a tour fails to satisfy minimum numbers, the trip may be cancelled or rescheduled
• Tour itineraries, routes and stops may change or be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to weather conditions, road hazards or mechanical issues
• No shows: Those who do not advise Hobbiton Movie Set that you will be late and/or fail to check in for your pre-booked tour time: booking will be cancelled with no refund given
