What You’ll Love…

The Sights – Discover a taste of the beauty of South America

In Quito’s colonial quarter, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you’ll visit the cathedral and the Presidential Palace, before heading to the Middle of the World Monument at the Equator, which marks latitude 0°. Here, you can stand with one foot in each hemisphere!

It’s back to nature at the Devil’s Cauldron, a stunning waterfall hidden in the Ecuadorian rainforest. You’ll also spend time with a local family, who will talk about local life and the unique Amazon culture. Tonight, you’ll stay in a nature lodge on the Napo River, which you’ll reach by canoe. A hike through Misicocha Private Nature Reserve is not to be missed, giving you the unique opportunity to spot indigenous flora and fauna, cross suspended bridges and even try a short zip-line basket ride.

Discover ancient and contemporary Peruvian culture in a single adventure. Peru’s mix of modern galleries, museums and the gastronomic scene in cities like Lima and Cuzco are juxtaposed by the colonial-era structures and the temples that date back to pre-Columbian times. Sample the mouth-watering flavours of Andean cuisine across this alluring country. Savour ceviche, a delicious mix of fresh raw fish and shellfish marinated in lime or lemon, empanadas full of meat and olives or perhaps even dare yourself to try cuy — otherwise known as guinea pig.

Visit Machu Picchu, listed by UNESCO as one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the Modern World’. Arguably the most iconic site in all of Peru (if not the Inca civilisation), get to know this location with visits to the Temple of the Sun, the House of the Priest, the Sacred Plaza and more while exploring the various compounds and witnessing the breathtaking views of the nearby peaks. Nothing can prepare you for the beauty and wonder of this mystical place, with the memories sure to stay with you for a lifetime.

End your tour with a visit to Lima’s colonial city centre, with its historic buildings surrounding the splendid Plaza Mayor. Tick Lima’s famous sites off your list including the Government Palace, Cathedral and the wondrous Convent of San Francisco with its priceless pieces of art and famed catacombs.
