Our travel team is always excited to visit brand new properties away from the usual tourist destinations, so when we got the chance to stay at the brand new luxury spa resort Fusion Resort Nha Trang in Cam Ranh Bay we grabbed our passports quicker than you can say, well…”grab your passports!”.
The exclusive offer combines unlimited daily spa treatments at Fusion Resort’s in-house spa as well as daily breakfasts, exclusive dining inclusions, proximity to some of Vietnam’s most breathtaking beaches and more. Plus a two night stopover in Ho Chi Min City staying at the five-star Sofitel Saigon Plaza, a highly rated property and winner of the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2014 – a favourite amongst the travel team.
Quick tip – stays at Sofitel Saigon Plaza can be taken before or after your time at Fusion Resort, allowing more flexibility and the opportunity to visit nearby destinations. We chose to stay at Fusion Resort first, followed by two days at Sofitel Saigon, knowing that we planned to do lots of shopping in Ho Chi Minh.
Your utterly stress-free getaway begins with return airport transfers courtesy of Fusion Resort. We were collected from Cam Ranh International Airport and driven to the beachside resort, just a quick 15 minute journey and the perfect start to our relaxed stay.
Fusion Resort Nha Trang is situated 30 minutes south of the bustling city of Nha Trang on a long stretch of white sandy beach – a picture perfect paradise where you can gaze for hours at the myriad islands dotted along the coast. We have experienced our fair share of unmissable beaches and we believe this stretch of turquoise rivals the beaches of Bali and Thailand.
Plotted on 14 hectares of rolling lawns and surrounded by palms, this design-focused resort is a slice of heaven with all-ocean-view suites and a penchant for inducing true relaxation.
One of the nicest aspects about this stunning resort is the privacy, which each room and suite providing guests with natural privacy barriers – an intimate way to remain secluded and connected with nature.
We never tire of a sunset, and those we watched on the beach were in a word – spectacular.
Fusion Resort is pure beach luxe, a unique property where each room and suite offers guests uninterrupted views of the South China Sea – creating a chilled out and sophisticated vibe that is felt throughout the entire resort.
We stayed in a 100sqm Chic Suite replete with a private terrace with floor to ceiling glass windows to make the most of the stunning views. Each Chic Suite is stylishly decorated with natural wooden accents, sumptuous platform beds and day beds in the living space.
The ensuites and bathrooms at Fusion Resort are nothing short of exceptional – guests will love the spacious rain showers and breathtaking suspended designer bathtubs which float effortlessly above the floor.
Amenities across the board include complimentary in-suite Wi-Fi, Bluetooth speakers, coffee and tea making facilities and mini bars.
You’re on holiday, so why not treat yourself to a real taste of luxury? And believe us when we say the upgraded suites at the Fusion Resort are not to be missed.
We couldn’t resist taking a peak inside the palatial 154sqm Spa Suite where guests can expect to see all of the touches and details of the Chic Suite – including that dreamy bath tub – plus the addition of private plunge pools and plush outdoor living spaces.
Each suite is a romantic space, perfect for those looking to relax, reconnect and luxuriate.
We loved the complimentary daily breakfasts that can be enjoyed anywhere, at any time – we came to enjoy starting our days next to the infinity pool where we dined on a delicious gourmet selection of Western and Vietnamese fare. We chose something new each day, alternating between pho, noodles, pancakes and our favourite – duck eggs cooked however you prefer!
Throughout the day you could find us at the Boat Beach Bar which serves a classic selection of refreshments and snacks near the pool
We especially loved Fresh Restaurant which offers a vibrant menu of healthy, modern cuisine.
And make sure to head to Zen Bar for an evening of light snacks, cocktails and ambiance.
Guests can also easily head to Nha Trang to enjoy the restaurants and unmissable night life that the famous beachside city has to offer – and we made good use of the complimentary shuttles to and from town several that Fusion Resorts run several times a day.
Fusion Resort is the epitome of luxury spa resorts boasting an all-inclusive spa concept, offering each guest a minimum of two luxury pampering treatments at the Maia Spa per day.
Maia Spa specialises in holistic therapies, blending together Ayurveda techniques, naturopathy with local customs and rituals to create an unforgettable and totally relaxing spa experience. And we loved that the herbs, oils and essences are made with plants from Maia Spa’s own herb garden.
The spa itself was pure indulgence and the treatments were outstanding – the holistic and ayurvedic touches throughout all of the treatments draw from ancient Indian Vedic texts, blended with local Vietnamese techniques and remedies.
We loved the range of modern facilities at Fusion Resort – we spent many hours lazing by the infinity pool located right on the ocean’s edge and loved the convenience of the complimentary shuttle from the resort to Nha Trang.
Those wanting to stay fit and active on holiday will love Fusion Resorts contemporary and fully-equipped fitness centre and sauna
We made sure to wake up refreshed one day to make the most of the complimentary Yoga and Tai Chi classes the resort offers – leaving us zen and centred for another day in paradise.
Either before or after the Fusion Resort stay, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the wonderful sights and sounds of vibrant Ho Chi Minh with a stay at the five-star Sofitel Saigon Plaza.
Either before or after the Vinpearl stay, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the wonderful sights and sounds of Vietnam’s eclectic city of Saigon / Ho Chi Minh at the five-star Sofitel Saigon Plaza.
We chose to go to Ho Chi Minh after Hoi An, but since the two parts of the trip are booked separately, you can pick and choose whatever suits you best. Airport transfers were provided as part of the package, making the trip easy. All we had to do was sit back and enjoy the ride (in a private limo!) through the vibrant city.
Perfectly positioned to experience bustling Ho Chi Minh, the Sofitel Saigon Plaza is a contemporary luxury hotel on tree-lined Le Duan Boulevard, just moments from the commercial centre of Ho Chi Minh City.
We used the Sofitel as a perfect base to experience a taste of real history with the famous War Remnants Museum (which is a haunting and interesting reminder of the devastating war) just a short cab ride or public transport trip away. Ho Chi Minh also has a thriving commercial sector with fantastic shopping and a wealth of restaurants to try.
There’s also the famous Bến Thành Market to visit, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant Vietnamese culture and atmosphere. The market building itself is a sight to see as one of the earliest surviving structures in Ho Chi Minh. It’s filled with local handicrafts, textiles, traditional áo dài costumes and plenty of souvenirs, as well as local cuisine that’s hard to resist.
Marvel at the stylish French touches in the newly renovated, five-star Superior Rooms at the Sofitel Saigon. Tasteful, comfortable and well-appointed; the rooms feature the comfort of a Sofitel MyBed with your choice from the heavenly pillow menu, Saigon River or city views, spacious elegance and modern amenities.
Guests travelling on the package also have the chance to holiday like a VIP with unlimited access to the hotel’s Club Sofitel Lounge where cocktails flow into the night!
Don’t forget to try Sofitel’s two unique restaurants – Cafe Rivoli which features exquisite international cuisine and L’Olivier Restaurant which offers delectable French cuisine. Sofitel’s buffet breakfast is also included in the offer so you can wake up to a tantalising selection of Western and oriental delights each morning of your two-night stay.
Sofitel Saigon also has a luxurious rooftop pool to help you escape the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh after a day of sightseeing, plus a fully equipped fitness centre and sauna – just to top off your decadent trip.
