The Hotel – A colonial manor in the heart of the hills

The then British Commissioner of Kumaon, General Sir Henry Ramsay – also cousin to Lord Dalhousie, the Viceroy of India – purchased this piece of land to make it his summer home. Today, more than 150 years later, the manor is a gorgeous hotel that retains its colonial charm and untouched ambience.
Scattered across 40 acres of a splendid hilltop landscape, this British-era manor is enfolded by the dense forests of Binsar National Park. Forget city lights and high-rises and let your eyes feast upon bewitching views of unending hills, snowcapped Himalayan peaks, clear-blue skies, and acres and acres of greenery. Featuring just 11 rooms, the accommodation in this manor is accentuated with teakwood furniture, bright bedspreads and rugs, cosy fireside armchairs and high-ceilinged corridors. Views of snowcapped Himalayan peaks are an added bonus here. The manor doesn’t provide televisions, encouraging you to reconnect with nature and spend some quality time with your loved ones.
