Update: 11th December 2024: As per the amendments to the Tourism Act issued by the Maldivian Government, applicable to all travellers arriving in the Maldives from 1 January 2025, the green tax payable by travellers upon arrival at hotels (including tourist resorts, tourist hotels, hotels, tourist guest houses, tourist vessels) has been increased from USD 6.00 to USD 12.00 per person per day.

Seaplane Transfer:

• The resort is located approximately a 30-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport (MLE). The resort can be reached by a seaplane transfer, available at an additional cost (payable directly to the resort). Alternatively, the resort can be reached by a 30-minute speedboat transfer for guests who fly into the domestic Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV), available at an additional cost (payable directly to the resort).
• Upon your arrival, guests who book seaplane transfers will be met by the resort team and transferred by car to the Vakkaru Maldives private lounge in the seaplane terminal.
• Seaplanes fly in daylight hours only and your transfer to the resort is a 30-minute flight northwest of the airport. If you are arriving in the evening or simply prefer, you may choose a domestic flight to the local Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV), a journey of 20 minutes, followed by a 30-minute speedboat ride to the island.
• Please provide the resort with your international flight arrival and departure details at least 72 hours in advance to ensure a smooth journey to Vakkaru Maldives is booked for you. Contact the resort directly at reservations@vakkarumaldives.com.
• International departure flights should be scheduled after 9am to guarantee same-day departure.
• All transfers are subject to tides, weather conditions and the seaplane company’s terms & conditions.
