About the hotel

Perched on the hillsides above the Libyan Sea, Paralos Irini Mare is a family-run retreat with more than thirty years of Cretan hospitality behind it. The recently renovated rooms and suites are spread throughout fragrant herb gardens, orchards and the shade of a two-century-old olive tree, with Agia Galini beach just below.

Facilities centre on relaxation and activity in equal measure. The outdoor pool looks out over the sea, while spa treatments and a sauna offer unhurried relaxation. Guests looking to stay active will find a well-equipped gym and tennis courts on site. The restaurant draws on seasonal Cretan produce and the hotel’s own olive oil, pressed from groves near the Minoan palace of Phaistos.

Beyond the property, Agia Galini’s waterfront and the gorge walks of south Crete are on the doorstep. The Minoan palace of Phaistos, Preveli beach and the Samaria Gorge are all within reach, making this a natural base for exploring one of the less-toured sides of the island.

Preveli beach and its famous palm-fringed lagoon, the Venetian harbour of Rethymno and the ancient Minoan site of Knossos are all within easy reach, making the resort an ideal base for exploring the island. The hotel is located approximately a 90-minute drive from Herklion International Airport (HER). Airport transfers are not included in your package, please plan accordingly.

Bookings (except for cruise bookings, flights and deposit fee, if applicable, which are subject to the cancellation terms of the relevant supplier) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 14 days prior to the check-in date. Excludes flight and service fee, if applicable.
