What you'll see

Welcome to beautiful Taiwan! A land of forested mountains and dazzling lakes, Taiwan is also famed for its diverse cuisine and fragrant street food. With far-reaching origins across the provinces of China, alongside the traditional flavours of indigenous Taiwanese groups such as the Hakka community, this unique blend of cultures cooks up a spectacular array of flavourful dishes that cater to a wide array of tastes.

Your journey begins on arrival at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), where you’ll be transferred to your comfortable accommodation in the heart of the city. Along the way, sight key landmarks like the palatial Grand Hotel and imposing Taipei 101 tower – the first building in the world to exceed a height of 500 metres, styled in the tiered shape of a traditional pagoda.

Once you’ve checked in, the remains of the afternoon are yours for exploring. Grab an assortment of dumplings from the myriad street stalls, or choose to go subterranean as you descend into Taipei City Mall for an adventurous knife massage.

In the evening, receive proper introduction to the delicate flavours of Taiwanese cuisine as you meet your fellow travellers during a welcome dinner.
