Travellers should have a good level of physical fitness and mobility and must be able to negotiate uneven surfaces, climb stairs and board boats. Please note that we do a lot of walking around historical sites and mainly use public transport to travel between sites and to/from our hotel so please be sure to pack comfortable walking shoes.

Packages do not include international flights to and from Japan, visa fees, travel insurance, additional activities and upgrades and anything else not listed in the itinerary.

Japan Baggage Service:

  • This tour uses the Japan Rail Network extensively to travel between and around cities. We recommend you pack lightly and travel with only one suitcase that you can easily manoeuvre as you will need to manage your own luggage through often crowded stations
  • To make your transit between cities more comfortable, Luxury Escapes will provide an onward luggage transfers between Tokyo and Kyoto (day 4), and Kyoto and Osaka (day 7 when Extension option is taken). We recommend you prepare an overnight bag to take with you to Hakone on Day 4, and Hiroshima on Day 7. Any extra luggage for transfer will be at your own expense
