This is a fantastic getaway for the whole family, featuring a large playground where everyone can spend hours having fun. Additionally, table tennis and tennis facilities are available in the area. The rooms with mountain views offer breathtaking scenery, and guests can enjoy the sight of Mt. Fuji every morning. There's also a rooftop area for observation and enhanced views of the surroundings. The dining options are amazing with beverages and alcoholic options during the happy hours as well.

This hotel is really good for families with kids. Almost the whole B1 floor is dedicated for fun kid stuff. Table tennis, bicycle karts with small track, huge climbing gym playhouse, climbing wall, tunnels to hide in. Only 1 restaurant and no lunch options. It’s a bit of a struggle if you’re a vegetarian (for dinner) as the buffet is too pricy for the limited options. Staff speak limited English but were very helpful. No exchange office in the hotel or nearby. Nice afternoon tea 3-6pm with drinks and snacks. The observatory was a super nice touch. You get to see stars and planets with a telescope. The onsen is probably nice but we didn’t use because it’s men and women separate. The hotel is in a rural location so having a car is a plus. Limited taxi availability.

The buffet breakfast and dinner were so good!! I recommend everyone to get it if you are staying here!!! I also love the all inclusive snack and drink that they have and the great facility for children! I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but the room we had was so bad, considering we paid 50,000 yen for the room alone for 2 nights. I understand that it’s old and outdated but the smell of the bathroom was so strong, it felt like someone smoked there and they covered it with some bleach smell. If the room is old, at least make the pillows comfortable. It was so hard and uncomfortable to sleep too. We will definitely go back though! Our baby had so much fun! I hope that there would be 24 hour water and coffee service though. Not just the scheduled snack since guests need water and coffee during odd hours of the day too. The onsen was so good and the outdoor area is so relaxing! Most of the staff spoke English which was also great!!

Stopped over at “grand” Mercure to break up our drive to Takayama. If I had known this was a KIDS MOTEL I would have gone elsewhere. The constant screaming, crying and running around (you hear EVERYTHING) was absurd. I felt like I couldn’t relax. Advertised the staff speak English, but they don’t, instead you’re given print outs with hotel info and even breakfast info, instead of anything being explained. Our rooms were the non renovated ones - don’t book those - they are in desperate need of work. Buffet breakfast was nice, but again - all I can hear is children crying.
