My family of 4 (with a 3-year-old and a 0-year-old) stayed for one night on a weekday in April.
I had read the reviews in advance and expected the worst, but I had a comfortable stay without any problems.
This time it was a weekday and it was just after the start of the new fiscal year, so there weren't that many customers, and the main customers seemed to be families with small children and inbound tourists (mainly Westerners and Chinese).
There are many people who give low reviews in reviews, but the premise is that the evaluation depends on whether you use the hotel on weekdays or holidays, and whether it is during the busy season or not.
It's more reasonable than other family-friendly hotels in the same area, and I personally feel that it's nonsense to expect more from the hotel if you think of it as ``service commensurate with the cost of accommodation.''
Also, the reasonable number of customers will change, so I think it is necessary to be prepared for the manners of other customers.
Having said that, I think it's a problem in the hotel industry that the level of satisfaction with your stay changes depending on luck or when you stay.
-check-in
I arrived at the hotel a little earlier than the check-in time of 3:00 pm, but I was able to proceed with the check-in process even though I was early. Perhaps there were few guests that day, so there was no line at the front desk.
-Lounge
As with check-in, there were no lines for drinks or snack tables.
Snacks were replenished multiple times, and the staff in charge regularly checked on them. We took our drinks and snacks back to our room (we went back and forth between our room and lunge several times and refilled them).
I had the impression that those with children were relaxing in the room, and those without children were relaxing in the lounge.
-Kids space
I was very satisfied. There are many things that children can enjoy playing with.
Since there were few users, there was no competition for play equipment or crowding.
Additionally, although the play equipment in the main space is marked as being for use by ages 6 and above, most of the children playing were under the age of 6. It seemed like the users turned a blind eye to each other on that point... or rather, they were relieved that their parents were always with them... or rather, they seemed to understand each other.
-dining
I checked the crowd status online frequently from the start of both dinner and breakfast, but I never had to wait in line. I was able to eat at my desired time without having to wait. The restaurant was never full during the meal, so it must have been a day when there weren't many guests.
The menu doesn't have a lot of variety, such as main side dishes, desserts, and breakfast bread, but I think it's a good value for the price.
There are many things that children like to eat, from meat-based foods to fried foods, vegetable dishes, and omelet rice. In addition, there were several "make-your-own" items such as ice cream machines, shaved ice machines, and automatic pancake machines, some of which you could enjoy as if they were attractions. However, I can easily imagine that when there are many customers, there will be lines and people will be dissatisfied.
-Rooms
We used the Japanese-style room on the second floor. This is a standard, simple Japanese-style room. It's old, but it's mainly a place to sleep, so we didn't need much for a room.
-hot spring
It has a spacious structure. Perhaps in proportion to the number of guests, there were only two other groups bathing at the same time, so we were able to spend a relaxing time.
In the open-air bath, there were leaves and insects floating in the water, and the temperature was low, but since it is an open-air bath, you need to understand that. The temperature of the indoor bath was just right, and the quality of the spring water was smooth and comfortable.
I didn't check this point because I brought the amenities from home, thinking that I wouldn't expect much from an accommodation in this price range.
-service
It feels like it's not bad or bad. I think your impression will change depending on what you look for in a hotel and whether it's a day with a lot of guests.
I didn't notice anything that bothered me when I was interacting with the front desk staff, but when there were no customers at the front desk, the staff members talked with each other, and several times I saw them continuing to talk until the last minute before they could face the customer. It's not a luxury inn, so I guess I can't help it...
I borrowed a humidifier from the front desk, but when I returned to the room, I couldn't use it. I checked the manufacturer's instructions online, but I couldn't use it. I wonder if they haven't checked the operation frequently...It's a shame.
I wrote above that it was "fair to bad", but I had a very good impression of the dining staff. I saw many people frequently carrying cleaned tableware to the backyard, checking to see if the dishes were running low, and replenishing them. In addition, many of the people spoke to the children in a friendly manner, and we received warm customer service.
Lastly, if I am going to travel on weekdays during the off-season, I would like to use it again while my children are small. In contrast to those who wrote low reviews, I think that the fact that we happened to be able to use the hotel on a day when there were few guests greatly contributed to our satisfaction.
