Inspired by the proprietors’ romance with sundowner camps in Africa, each of Paperbark’s 13 safari-style tents celebrates sustainability without sacrificing comfort. Fight wintry mornings with a warm tea using the hot water flask delivered to your doorstep, spend afternoons relaxing in the open-air bath and evenings cosying up in your heated tent.
Located along sleepy Currambene Creek, just moments from the glowing sands of Jervis Bay, Paperbark Camp offers guests a serene, secluded escape. Enjoy hiking, biking and swimming in the nearby national parks, as well as exploring the small holiday town of Huskisson. Visit the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum & Gallery or enjoy a pint at Jervis Bay Brewing Co.
The camp is located approximately a 2.5-hour drive from both Sydney Airport (SYD) and Canberra Airport (CBR). Airport transfers are not included in your package, please plan accordingly.

Start each day with breakfast at The Gunyah, the treetop dining room, where you can enjoy fresh, locally-sourced produce in a beautiful bush setting. After fueling up, your adventure begins. With unlimited daily use of outdoor sports equipment, you can explore the surrounding waterways by canoe or stand-up paddleboard, or take a bike ride through the forest trails, all at your leisure.
On arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a bottle of premium sparkling wine in your room, setting the tone for a relaxing stay. To make your experience even more memorable, you’ll also receive a take-home Paperbark backpack, perfect for carrying your memories (and essentials) long after your retreat.

7-Day Change of Mind ‘No Questions Asked’ Refund Guarantee: Things don’t always work out. Our 7-day Change of Mind Guarantee is there to help. Bookings (except for cruise bookings, flights and deposit fee, if applicable, which are subject to the cancellation terms of the relevant supplier) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 14 days prior to the check-in date. Excludes flight and service fee, if applicable.
- Cancellations outside of the 7-Day Change of Mind period will not be provided, except as required by Australian Consumer Law, your local law or as otherwise provided for in the Fine Print.
Flexible Cancellation: You can cancel your booking for credit up until 21 days prior to the original check-in date. This can be done via self-service in your ‘My Escapes’ account. Your credit will be valid for 12 months from the date of cancellation. Credits are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Excludes service fee, if applicable.
Please note this does not apply to flights booked with us. Flight fulfilment is provided by the airline(s) selected at the time of finalising the booking. For your air travel, you are bound by the terms and conditions and fare rules of the selected airline(s).
Date Changes: If you need to amend your booking, you can self-service unlimited date changes in your ‘My Escapes’ account up until 21 days before your original check-in date. If you can’t find a suitable date, or still need further assistance, please contact our 24/7 customer service team. Subject to availability and surcharges.
Please Note:
- Dining inclusions do not include drinks (unless otherwise stated). Menus are subject to change without notice.
- Daily breakfast is served at The Gunyah between 8am and 10am and includes one espresso coffee.
- One-time three-course dinner is served at The Gunyah between 5.30pm and 8.30pm. Pre-booking is required and can be made online through the Paperbark Camp website, where guests can specify that they are a camp guest.
- Guests may request non-alcoholic offerings in lieu of the welcome bottle of wine, please advise Paperbark Camp at the time of booking.
- Backpack is a bespoke Paperbark Camp souvenir to be taken home and contains two bottles of sparkling water plus two trail mix snacks.
- Use of outdoor sports equipment is during the daytime only, and includes the use of canoes, stand-up paddle boards and bicycles. No reservations required.
- Each tent includes hot water bottles and a daily hot water flask which can be used for cups of tea.
- Heating is only available in the rooms from May to September.
- Children 10+ are welcome to stay at Paperbark Camp.
