Underwater Virtual Theatre Experience under Lake Wakatipu
Take a journey through time at Queenstown’s only underwater virtual theatre experience. Head downstairs to the underwater observatory under Lake Wakatipu and take a seat in the theatre travel back in time. You’ll witness the touching love story and Māori legend of Lake Wakatipu, see dinosaurs roaming the Earth, and learn about the creation of the Queenstown – all from the comfort of your seat. To round out your experience, marvel at 15 minutes of underwater viewing where you’ll spot the diving ducks, eels, and rainbow and brown trout that lie beneath the waters of Lake Wakatipu.

Important:
- Bookings are subject to availability
- Time Tripper is suitable for all ages. Children love the dinosaurs but Murray the Mosasaur can be a little bit scary! Child tickets are valid for those aged 3–14, and infants aged 0–2 are free of charge
- Please allow up to 30 minutes for total experience, including 15-minute movie and 15-minute underwater viewing session
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the theatre
- Unfortunately, this experience is not wheelchair accessible
- No filming or recording is permitted during the movie
Terms & Conditions:
- Time Tripper reserves the right to cancel or postpone sessions at its sole discretion and will re-book or refund the ticket purchase price if a session is cancelled or postponed by us
- No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of departure are non-refundable. Refunds are granted solely at the discretion of Time Tripper Management
