Day 1: Sydney

Welcome to Sydney, home to world-famous landmarks, hatted restaurants, bustling bars and outstanding cultural institutions.

Arrive at Sydney Airport (SYD), where you will be met by a local representative and transferred to your hotel. The day is spent at your leisure, so you may arrive any time before 5pm. Tonight, a welcome dinner is enjoyed at 6HEAD 1788 steak restaurant, situated at Campbells Cove.

Day 2: Sydney

Today, familiarise yourself with this beautiful city on a guided tour. Take a walk around the harbour foreshore, admire the dramatic Sydney Opera House up close, relish a photo-op at Observatory Hill and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair — offering panoramic vistas of the harbour — stroll through the serene Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and hear tales of the rich and famous in the ritzy Eastern Suburbs. Lunch is enjoyed at Bondi Beach before time at leisure (best enjoyed on the Bondi to Bronte headland walk).

Day 3: Sydney – Blue Mountains – Sydney

Rise early for your day trip to the Blue Mountains. Stopping at the wildlife park, you’re given the opportunity to see Australian wildlife up close and personal, including kangaroos, koalas, wallabies and wombats.

After morning tea in a secluded area, continue to the iconic Three Sisters rock formation for complete immersion into nature. Lunch is enjoyed in Katoomba before returning to Sydney.

Day 4: Sydney – Cairns

After a morning at leisure, board your included flight to Cairns.

From here, take a journey on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, winding through jaw-dropping rainforest, gorges and waterfalls. Rising 328 metres above sea level, this epic train ride meanders through picturesque scenery, past cascading waterfalls and through hand-hewn tunnels. Take a seat in one of the beautifully restored carriages and spot over 1,200 species of flowering plants, as well as rainforest trees, strangler figs and exotic palms.

Upon arrival in Kuranda, enjoy a close encounter with a koala before your included lunch. A charming arts and crafts hub tucked away in the cool of the mountains, Kuranda is the place to pick up locally made clothing and jewellery, wood carvings and Indigenous artworks, while enjoying the talented buskers performing on street corners.

Depart Kuranda and check into your hotel, the five-star Crystalbrook Riley in the heart of Cairns, before dinner at Ochre Restaurant on the Cairns waterfront.

Day 5: Cairns – Great Barrier Reef – Cairns

After breakfast, set sail on the waters of the Coral Sea to explore the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. Spend the day in the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by colourful marine life and spectacular coral formations waiting to be explored.

Choose to snorkel, dive or stay dry and discover this stunning underwater landscape. This unforgettable experience includes a tropical lunch, all snorkelling equipment, commentary and much more.

Day 6: Cairns – Daintree Rainforest – Cairns

Today, embark on a tour exploring the world’s oldest tropical rainforest, dating back 180 million years. After breakfast, a cruise along the Daintree River offers an opportunity to spot some of the resident crocodiles, birds and other wildlife in the water and dense foliage onshore.

After an included morning tea in a magnificent private setting, prepare to pass pretty coves, mesmerising sea views and charming swathes of sand as you explore Cape Tribulation Beach. Be sure to leave room for dessert, as after lunch, we stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Company.

Day 7: Cairns – Uluru

After an early breakfast, you’re transferred to the airport for your included flight to Ayers Rock Airport. On arrival, you will be transferred to your indulgent hotel – Sails in the Desert. Enjoy time at leisure in this luxurious desert oasis before lunch.

Later, immerse yourself in ancient Indigenous culture on a guided walk around the base of Uluru. Learn of the incredible significance of this monolith to the local people and hear about the beliefs and traditions of this region. Afterwards, sit back and relax as you travel into the amazing Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to watch the setting sun. With a glass of sparkling wine or cold beer in hand, you’ll be overwhelmed by its incredible size, presence and inherent spirituality as Uluru’s colours change in the light.

Tonight, dinner is enjoyed at the in-house restaurant, Ilkari.

Day 8: Uluru – Kata Tjuta – Uluru

Rise early for an incredible Sunrise in the Outback experience. Drive to the perfect vantage point just in time to witness the first parts of daylight pierce the black sky, as the sun rises over the ancient rock formation Kata Tjuta. Afterwards, enjoy a picnic breakfast amongst the desert landscape before time to relax and a hike through the well-known Valley of the Winds – stopping along the way at many vantage points to admire the sweeping views and remarkable wildlife.

Return to your hotel mid-morning for the rest of the day at leisure.

Tonight, bask in the spellbinding landscape with an unforgettable evening of dining under the sparkling outback sky. The Sounds of Silence gourmet experience is made not just by the food, but the transformational effect of the unforgettable location and the fact it takes place as the sun sets and darkness falls. Delight in canapés and chilled sparkling wine before being welcome to an interactive chef’s station serving freshly prepared, bush tucker-inspired cuisine, incorporating native bush ingredients.

Name Change or Corrections

Following the 7-Day Change of Mind Guarantee period,

  • Name corrections may incur a fee.

  • Name changes are not permitted.

  • You can enjoy one free date change on selected tours up until 90 days prior to your original travel date (subject to seasonal surcharges or package upgrades). Changes can be made via your ‘My Escapes’ account, or by contacting the Tours Concierge Team at tours@luxuryescapes.com. Any subsequent date changes will incur a fee of A$250 per person plus any further costs that may apply.

  • The Tours Concierge team will advise if the change is confirmed via email and provide an invoice for the following: date change fees, costs from third-party suppliers, air and rail travel and hotels (cabins on cruises).

Passports & Visas

  • A visa may be required. It is the traveller’s responsibility to ensure they’re holding a current visa for the countries they’re visiting. If the traveller is on a non-Australian passport, a valid re-entry visa may be required.
  • Important: Please start arranging your visa at least 6-8 weeks prior to departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours and processing time.
  • A valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months beyond your return travel date is required for all passengers (including children and infants).
  • When travelling within Australia, please check current state/territory border entry requirements to ensure you’re eligible to travel and have completed any required permits or passes.

Photo ID

  • For all international tours, a digital copy of your passport must be provided for each guest by 90/120 days prior to your tour departure.
  • For domestic tours, a digital copy of a government-issued photo identification (passport or driver’s licence) must be provided for each guest by 60/90 days prior to your tour departure.

Flights

  • Domestic economy-class flights between Sydney, Cairns and Uluru are included in your package, departing with Qantas or Jetstar.
  • Preferred airline seating is the responsibility of the passenger. For any specific airline seat reservations, contact the airline with the booking number included in your tour summary email.
  • Upgrades: Cabin upgrades are available. Details and prices will be provided upon booking your tour.
  • Please note that cabin upgrades are subject to availability and may not be available on all flights.

Baggage Restrictions and Timings

  • Passengers are permitted one piece of checked-in baggage with a maximum weight of 23kg on tour
  • Passengers are permitted one carry-on piece with a maximum weight of 7kg.
  • Timing provided on the itinerary is based on current schedules provided by airlines and can change at any time without notice.

Transfers

  • Arrival and departure transfers are only available on the first and last day. Please note, arrival and departure transfers are included between the hours of 6am and 6pm. If you arrive outside these hours a supplement may apply. Please contact the Luxury Escapes Tours Concierge team on tours@luxuryescapes.com for further information.
  • If booking a Twin-Share Package, transfers are based on two people sharing the one vehicle. If you are arriving on different flights at different times, a supplement will be charged for two separate vehicles.
  • Please note ‘Private Transfers’ refers to transfers that are exclusive for your Luxury Escapes group and may be shared amongst other members of your group if arriving on the same flight or another flight arriving within a 30-minute window.
  • Flight details must be advised at least 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Failure to provide your confirmed flight details within this time period will result in forfeiting your transfer.
  • Please contact the Luxury Escapes Tours Concierge Team at tours@luxuryescapes.com to provide your flight details and for any assistance with transfers.

Porterage

On occasion, porterage is not included, therefore, at times, you may be expected to handle your own luggage where help may not be available. Please refer to inclusions if porterage is included.

Tipping

Tipping and gratuities are not included in the package and are at your own discretion. As a guide, approximately A$15 – A$20 per person, per day, is the industry standard.

Fitness Requirements

Travellers acknowledge that they are required to have a good level of health and fitness to undertake the activities on this tour. Further, travellers acknowledge and agree that neither Luxury Escapes nor the tour provider will be able to provide medical or other assistance in the event that they are unable to complete any aspect of the tour as a result of their health or physical condition (nor is Luxury Escapes liable for any loss, damage, expense, injury or death arising from such).

Dietary Requirements

In most cases Luxury Escapes can cater for special dietary requirements but please note that on occasion, this may not be possible due to location, lack of availability of ingredients, and other extenuating circumstances. It is always advised to carry supplies with you.

Any dietary requirements must be received by Luxury Escapes at least 90 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Failure to provide these details by this date may result in an inability to cater for your requirements.

Valued Up To

The value and comparative savings have been determined based on published rack rates and the value of inclusions. Please be advised that rack rates may not be reflective of actual rates being charged, dependent on the timing and manner of your booking and therefore are only indicative of the level of saving.

Itinerary Amendments & Changes

Occasionally our itineraries are updated prior to departure to incorporate improvements stemming from past travellers’ feedback as well as updates from our ground operators. Please note that while we operate successful tours in this region throughout the year, some changes may be necessary due to inclement weather, public holidays, common seasonal changes to timetables and transport routes, and unforeseen circumstances. This can happen with little notice so please be prepared for modifications to the route. The order and timing of included activities may also vary from time to time.

In the event of a change in itinerary (due to safety or events outside of our control) which results in cancellation or change fees in respect of flights (or other parts of your travel) we will notify you as soon as practicable. You will be responsible for any associated costs or will otherwise have the right to a refund (less any costs incurred or paid to third parties).

Surcharges

After completing your booking, your tour cost may be subject to additional surcharges as a result of factors beyond the control of Luxury Escapes. Where the cost of delivering your selected tour materially increases between the time of purchase and delivery, Luxury Escapes reserves the right to increase the balance due. Increases may be in relation to, but not limited to, currency fluctuations, taxes, airfares, fuel surcharges or tour costs where those costs have increased for similar reasons. A material increase will be considered once in excess of 10% of the package price.

Any prices quoted exclude specific costs/measures which may be introduced at a later stage as a result of Government changes due to Covid-19 health and safety restrictions. Luxury Escapes will inform its guests of these changes as soon as possible, these additional charges will be passed on by Luxury Escapes to the guest.

Bookings (except for cruise bookings and flights which are subject to the cancellation terms of the relevant supplier) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 90 days prior to the departure date.

Covid-19 Related Cancellations

For all new bookings from 13 October 2020, if you can’t travel as a direct result of border closures or Government-imposed travel restrictions that directly impact your booking, Luxury Escapes will:

  • allow you to change the dates of your tour,
  • offer you a credit for another tour, cruise or accommodation offer, less any third-party costs that Luxury Escapes can’t recover (including from airlines and tour providers)

Flight Schedule Changes and/or Cancellations (if applicable)

  • Please note that the rules governing your flight purchase are different from the terms and conditions of your hotel, tour, or cruise purchase. See Flights terms and conditions here
  • Your hotel, tour, or cruise booking cannot be changed or cancelled in the event of unavoidable flight schedule changes or cancellations and will be subject to the terms of that purchase.
  • Further, your right to a change or cancellation of a flight is strictly governed by the terms and conditions of the specific airfare you purchased and as determined by the relevant airline carrier.
  • We will, however, make every effort to work with airlines and suppliers in order to provide you with the best alternative options available.

Booking Process

  • Select which package option you would like, taking care to choose the correct season, length of stay and room capacity (Twin Room or Solo Traveller)
  • Click on the green ‘Check Availability’ tab
  • Using the plus or minus adjust the number of people you would like to book then click the ‘View Available Dates & Prices’ tab
  • Click the blue ‘Select’ button then the green ‘Review & Payment’ tab at the bottom right of the screen
  • Fill out your preferred payment method and click the green ‘Pay Securely Now’ tab
  • Once your order is complete, you will receive your Luxury Escapes automated booking summary email (this is not your tour confirmation), and you will be prompted to complete your Traveller Details within 7 days of purchase
  • One of our dedicated Tours Concierge Agents will then be in touch no later than 90 days prior to your select departure date to advise the status of your tour and if it has been confirmed. If your chosen tour departure date is guaranteed at the time of booking, you may be able to purchase flights immediately. If your tour departure date is not yet guaranteed (still pending minimum numbers), flights should not be booked until you receive an update on the status of your tour.

  • You must provide a government-issued photo ID for each guest. All international tours require a passport photo ID.

IMPORTANT: The Twin Room Package is valid for ONE PERSON (based on twin room). If you are travelling with another person you must purchase TWO PACKAGES, otherwise please purchase a Solo Traveller package.

Please note that packages cannot be split.

AMENDMENTS & CHANGES

Name Change or Corrections

Following the 7-Day Change of Mind Guarantee period,

  • Name corrections may incur a fee.

  • Name changes are not permitted.

  • You can enjoy one free date change on selected tours up until 90 days prior to your original travel date (subject to seasonal surcharges or package upgrades). Changes can be made via your ‘My Escapes’ account, or by contacting the Tours Concierge Team at tours@luxuryescapes.com. Any subsequent date changes will incur a fee of A$250 per person plus any further costs that may apply.

  • The Tours Concierge team will advise if the change is confirmed via email and provide an invoice for the following: date change fees, costs from third-party suppliers, air and rail travel and hotels (cabins on cruises).

  • Date changes do not apply to flights booked with Luxury Escapes. Flight fulfilment and changes are governed by the airline(s) selected at the time of finalising the booking. For your air travel, you are bound by the terms and conditions and fare rules of the selected airline(s).

  • Sydney— Four Seasons Hotel Sydney (Deluxe Full Harbour View Room) or similar
  • Cairns — Crystalbrook Riley (Urban King Room) or similar
  • Uluru — Sails in the Desert (Superior Room) or similar

Group Size

  • Minimum number for this tour to operate is four guests. If your chosen tour departure date is guaranteed at the time of booking, you may be able to purchase flights immediately. Travel Insurance

  • Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Luxury Escapes recommends purchasing travel insurance as soon as possible after purchasing this package.
  • Luxury Escapes can assist you in purchasing travel insurance through our preferred provider. Please enquire for further information and to see if our policy is suitable for you.

Passports & Visas

  • A visa may be required. It is the traveller’s responsibility to ensure they’re holding a current visa for the countries they’re visiting. If the traveller is on a non-Australian passport, a valid re-entry visa may be required.
  • Important: Please start arranging your visa at least 6-8 weeks prior to departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours and processing time.
  • A valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months beyond your return travel date is required for all passengers (including children and infants).
  • When travelling within Australia, please check current state/territory border entry requirements to ensure you’re eligible to travel and have completed any required permits or passes.

Photo ID

  • For all international tours, a digital copy of your passport must be provided for each guest by 90/120 days prior to your tour departure.
  • For domestic tours, a digital copy of a government-issued photo identification (passport or driver’s licence) must be provided for each guest by 60/90 days prior to your tour departure.
  • These can be uploaded to your ‘My Escapes’ account. Alternately, please contact our Tours Concierge Team on tours@luxuryescapes.com for assistance.
  • Failure to provide valid photo ID as explained above will result in your booking being cancelled and all monies paid remaining non-refundable.

Health & Vaccinations

  • Travellers are advised to check the vaccine requirements for their trip with their local health professional at least 45 days prior to departure, as some vaccines require 30 days or more to be effective. Please check with your health professional that you hold the appropriate vaccination entry requirements for your destination.
  • By purchasing this tour, you acknowledge the COVID 19 Health & Safety advice as shown here.
  • Guests may be required to provide evidence of proof of vaccination against COVID 19 from our ground operator prior to departure. Please contact the Luxury Escapes Tours Concierge team on tours@luxuryescapes.com for further information.
  • Important: The hotel, transportation and/or destination you are travelling to may have health, insurance and vaccination requirements in place. Please ensure you stay up to date with any requirements prior to your departure.

Flights

  • Domestic economy-class flights between Sydney, Cairns and Uluru are included in your package, departing with Qantas or Jetstar.
  • Preferred airline seating is the responsibility of the passenger. For any specific airline seat reservations, contact the airline with the booking number included in your tour summary email.
  • Upgrades: Cabin upgrades are available. Details and prices will be provided upon booking your tour.
  • Please note that cabin upgrades are subject to availability and may not be available on all flights.

Baggage Restrictions and Timings

  • Passengers are permitted one piece of checked-in baggage with a maximum weight of 23kg on tour
  • Passengers are permitted one carry-on piece with a maximum weight of 7kg.
  • Timing provided on the itinerary is based on current schedules provided by airlines and can change at any time without notice.

Transfers

  • Arrival and departure transfers are only available on the first and last day. Please note, arrival and departure transfers are included between the hours of 6am and 6pm. If you arrive outside these hours a supplement may apply. Please contact the Luxury Escapes Tours Concierge team on tours@luxuryescapes.com for further information.
  • If booking a Twin-Share Package, transfers are based on two people sharing the one vehicle. If you are arriving on different flights at different times, a supplement will be charged for two separate vehicles.
  • Please note ‘Private Transfers’ refers to transfers that are exclusive for your Luxury Escapes group and may be shared amongst other members of your group if arriving on the same flight or another flight arriving within a 30-minute window.
  • Flight details must be advised at least 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Failure to provide your confirmed flight details within this time period will result in forfeiting your transfer.
  • Please contact the Luxury Escapes Tours Concierge Team at tours@luxuryescapes.com to provide your flight details and for any assistance with transfers.

Porterage

On occasion, porterage is not included, therefore, at times, you may be expected to handle your own luggage where help may not be available. Please refer to inclusions if porterage is included.

Tipping

Tipping and gratuities are not included in the package and are at your own discretion. As a guide, approximately A$15 – A$20 per person, per day, is the industry standard.

Fitness Requirements

Travellers acknowledge that they are required to have a good level of health and fitness to undertake the activities on this tour. Further, travellers acknowledge and agree that neither Luxury Escapes nor the tour provider will be able to provide medical or other assistance in the event that they are unable to complete any aspect of the tour as a result of their health or physical condition (nor is Luxury Escapes liable for any loss, damage, expense, injury or death arising from such).

Dietary Requirements

In most cases Luxury Escapes can cater for special dietary requirements but please note that on occasion, this may not be possible due to location, lack of availability of ingredients, and other extenuating circumstances. It is always advised to carry supplies with you.

Any dietary requirements must be received by Luxury Escapes at least 90 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Failure to provide these details by this date may result in an inability to cater for your requirements.

Valued Up To

The value and comparative savings have been determined based on published rack rates and the value of inclusions. Please be advised that rack rates may not be reflective of actual rates being charged, dependent on the timing and manner of your booking and therefore are only indicative of the level of saving.

Itinerary Amendments & Changes

Occasionally our itineraries are updated prior to departure to incorporate improvements stemming from past travellers’ feedback as well as updates from our ground operators. Please note that while we operate successful tours in this region throughout the year, some changes may be necessary due to inclement weather, public holidays, common seasonal changes to timetables and transport routes, and unforeseen circumstances. This can happen with little notice so please be prepared for modifications to the route. The order and timing of included activities may also vary from time to time.

In the event of a change in itinerary (due to safety or events outside of our control) which results in cancellation or change fees in respect of flights (or other parts of your travel) we will notify you as soon as practicable. You will be responsible for any associated costs or will otherwise have the right to a refund (less any costs incurred or paid to third parties).

Surcharges

After completing your booking, your tour cost may be subject to additional surcharges as a result of factors beyond the control of Luxury Escapes. Where the cost of delivering your selected tour materially increases between the time of purchase and delivery, Luxury Escapes reserves the right to increase the balance due. Increases may be in relation to, but not limited to, currency fluctuations, taxes, airfares, fuel surcharges or tour costs where those costs have increased for similar reasons. A material increase will be considered once in excess of 10% of the package price.

Any prices quoted exclude specific costs/measures which may be introduced at a later stage as a result of Government changes due to Covid-19 health and safety restrictions. Luxury Escapes will inform its guests of these changes as soon as possible, these additional charges will be passed on by Luxury Escapes to the guest.
