We stayed at Amstel Amsterdam for the New Years Holiday, and truly enjoyed ourselves. Our room was spacious, yet cozy and chic. I was so surprised to see the Christmas tree, adding an extra holiday flair. Guests were surprised NYE with a festive treat which was so fun, and we appreciated the service and detail the staff took while at our stay. I also love the spa space, after a long day in the cold, to come back to spend time in the hot tub, sauna or steam room was a great way to decompress. The location was a little further out, but it is out the way from all the traffic so the area is quieter which we enjoyed, just a little bit of a walk from city center and the museums, but still walkable. highly recommend staying here!

Can’t tell about the rooms, but we’ve had a lovely festive afternoon tea this afternoon. We were warmly welcomed to the beautiful lounge with views of the water. The afternoon tea was very nicely decorated and the teas were wonderful. This is the second time we’ve come here for the afternoon tea and it’s definitely recommended.

EDIT : I reached out to the team after they reacted to my review to discuss how we can improve our experience should we choose to stay at the hotel again. Unfortunately, two weeks later, I still don’t have a reply. Deducting a service star for that, definitely not up to the standards of such a hotel. We booked the Presidential Suite for a special staycation and were impressed by the exceptional service and stunning location. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. However, for the price, the suite itself was underwhelming. The layout included multiple connecting doors, and we could hear guests in an adjoining room, which impacted the experience. Room service was prompt, and the food was good but not outstanding. It was also surprising that the suite lacked a proper dining area. While the hotel made a thoughtful effort to provide a personalized dessert, we found it disappointing that mini-bar items, room service, and even breakfast were not included in the rate. A highlight of our stay was the spa—special thanks to the wonderful team for their kindness and skill. The in-room massage was excellent, though we were surprised that we had to set up the space ourselves (lighting, space for massage tables, set the temperature), which felt inconsistent with the level of service expected at this price point. The spa facilities were beautiful and relaxing, offering a peaceful retreat with great views of the Amstel. Overall, we had a pleasant experience, but the value did not match the cost. If we return, we’d opt for a standard room rather than a premium suite.
