Not sure what all the horrible reviews are about. I was literally terrified to stay here but it was too late to change hotels so I figured I’d just find out for myself. First of all, this is a GREAT hotel for someone looking to just walk around and explore downtown Dallas. There’s a lot to do and see just within a 10-15 minute walk which has been really awesome. It’s a really nice hotel and though my room is kinda old and outdated, it’s not disgusting, no bugs, the AC works just fine with cooling/heating, and I just found a lost sock on the floor (lol) CONS: my room didn’t have a microwave which I was a little irritating considering my friend had one in theirs? (Edit: i thought you had to pay for parking here but they gave me a card and when i left i didn’t have to pay anything) Breakfast is NOT included BUT there’s a ton of coffee, bagels, breakfast, and even a chick fil a within walking distance so you can easily avoid that issue. It’s obviously going to be loud considering you’re in a downtown metro area so be prepared to have some sort of white noise when you sleep. The pool was CLOSED considering it was 80 degrees and sunny all week! It’s the only outside area available to sit privately but alas it is closed! Would’ve made my trip so much better being able to see that view! Overall, this place really isn’t as bad as the reviews make it out to be but I’m sure everyone has their own experience and this was just mine! I wanted to be super honest cause I was SCARED to come here at first 😭🤣

The room deposit was a surprise. I asked to see in writing proof they could charge my card, the security guard who checked me in declined to show me any proof then served the next customer as if I wasn’t important. Then the lady behind the other part of reception said the room deposit was in case I destroyed the room during my stay. I had previously been straying at a Marriott and a Hyatt fit seven days each both of which didn’t ask for room deposits. I found it a bit insulting and being shut down when I asked about it very rude. But apart from this the hotel is in a great location, it’s reasonably priced, my room was well furnished and I had a very good sleep each of the three nights I stayed.

The room was terribly cramped for 2 people. It had a huge apt. sized fridge that took up way too much space. No microwave. Very disappointed with the amount of money we had to spend.

So, I have to agree with most of the reviews. This place sucks. Outdated and run down. My room is a balcony room. 14th floor, and it doesn't close correctly to stop wind, noise, smells, from coming in. The HVAC is just blowing air, the heat isn't working at all. The room was 65 inside, and I wanted just a little warmer. And I finally set it to 80 to warm it quickly. 12 hours later, it is finally 71 in the room. The wallpaper is curling and peeling. The toilet is not always working. (I had to take the lid off the tank ,eewww.) The bad part is the general manager said that he was putting me in an upgraded room since there was a problem with my reservation. And he specifically said that he checked out this room and I would REALLY like it..... Well, he was ignorant or something, and I hate this room. And it was an upgrade? What this place needs is a good demolition crew and a match. It is a sad, old, hotel.
