Sample Itinerary Highlights
- Picnic Bay: Enjoy a scenic drive from Nelly Bay, past the Rocky Bay lookout, then down to Picnic Bay to hear stories of the island’s early settlers.
- Arcadia Hill: Climb up Arcadia Hill to soak up unforgettable views over Cleveland Bay.
- Geoffrey Bay: Admire quirky rock formations and explore reef research sites – and meet the island’s rare Allied Rock Wallabies.
- Horseshoe Bay: Enjoy some free time on this stunning beach – take a stroll, enjoy something to eat (own expense) or take a refreshing dip. In butterfly season (June–September), you’ll also enjoy a short bushwalk through the Butterfly Forest.

Selected days
Important:
- Exclusions: Meals, drinks, ferry tickets to/from Magnetic Island, and hotel transfers
- Any additional personal expenses must be paid directly to vendor(s)
- Departure/return point: Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal, Magnetic Island 4819, QLD
- Guests are recommended to take the 2.15pm ferry departing Townsville to arrive at Magnetic Island at 3pm
- If arriving on the island earlier, please arrive at the departure point at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure time
- Tour will return in time for guests to catch the 6pm (6.35pm on weekends) ferry back to Townsville
- Guests are also welcome to finish the tour in Horseshoe Bay and enjoy dinner (own expense) and sunset views before making their own way back to the ferry terminal
- Ferry tickets are not included but can be purchased on the Sealink website here
- Please note, tour covers mostly flat or paved ground except for the Butterfly Forest walk in the winter months, which is 250m of forest track with some exposed roots. This walk is not suitable for wheelchairs
- Please allow up to three hours for this experience, including travel time

- Children must be aged 5—14 to participate in this experience. Children under 5 may attend free of charge but are still required to be listed when booking. All children under 18 must be accompanied and supervised by a paying parent/adult guardian (18+)
- Companion and Seniors rates are valid for holders of an Australian Companion/Seniors Card that must be presented at check-in
- Wildlife sightings are likely but cannot be guaranteed
- Itinerary is subject to change depending on availability, weather and road conditions
- Tour itineraries, routes and stops may change or be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to weather conditions, road hazards or mechanical issues
- Late arrivals and no shows voids voucher
