Very walkable to Kyoto Station, nearby to many local restaurants, great for tourists trying to avoid chain locations! Rooms were spacious and clean. Did notice some wallpaper showing a little age, but absolutely nothing to affect one’s enjoyment of their room. Beds were very comfy for my family of 3. Staff were attentive and extremely helpful. I did not have an opportunity to try the onsite restaurant so I cannot speak to that, but be aware that there is one available for daily breakfast and evening meals. One other note is there is currently no laundry facilities.

Dear Mecrcure Kyoto Station Management, I am writing to share my recent experience at your hotel restaurant, which left me quite disappointed and dissatisfied. During my visit, I encountered an unfortunate situation involving one of your staff members, a tall Asian male. Despite there being several empty seats available, I requested a different seating arrangement as the one assigned to me was uncomfortable and felt cramped. However, my request was refused, and I was asked to stay at the same seat, which made me feel forced and uncomfortable throughout my meal. Additionally, my experience was worsened by the staff’s failure to clear empty plates from my table. I had to specifically request for the plates to be removed, which was inconvenient and detracted from the overall dining experience. I also found the cleanliness of the restaurant and the quality of food to be below expectations for a hotel of this caliber. It was particularly disheartening to witness staff cleaning the grill during peak dining hours, which contributed to an unpleasant atmosphere. It seemed as though the restaurant staff had not considered the perspective of customers, which was extremely disappointing. I believe improvements are needed not only in the customer service but also in the food quality and cleanliness of the restaurant. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I do not feel inclined to visit your hotel again in the future.
