We have just had a 2 night stay here .We had a great time .staff on reception were welcoming and helpful , all other staff nice as well. The room we had was lovely a super king premium with club lounge access with a great view of the RSC theatre .Breakfast was delicious lots of choice for all dietary needs .There is plenty of parking .we had great weather so we were able to relax in the sun on the outside terrace over looking the river .Location of hotel is great to get into stratford centre only a few minutes walk .This was our second stay here and we will definitely return ! Thsank you to all staff

The parking in the car park costs £12 a hidden cost therefore bed and breakfast should include this cost as if u have traveled by car you need to park . Hotel bright and clean our evening meal and other diners were totally ruined as a customer was on dinner bed and breakfast rate and when he came to sort his bill three waitresses were discussing this matter for 10 to 15 mins and could not sort it all of us diners knew what he meant but no success for the very polite customer . Training needed badly this customer should have been asked to see someone who knew what he was taking about away from the diners. Chloe the waitress did apologise to us and another lone diner who was waiting all the time to order . Chloe had a shirt that once upon a time was white it now was grey and all creased it did not look very professional and hygienic the other girl had a very neat suit . Breakfast waitresses had lovely crisp white shirts all so neat and tidy. The gentleman serving looked as if had come off a building site creased shirt that was maybe white years ago . The hotel is very slick but staff in restaurant do not match it a lot of training needed .

I've had to take some time before completing this review because it's a bit of a mixed bag. Some aspects of our stay were excellent, others less so. Shortly after booking in we went to the pool but were quickly disappointed. The sauna was closed and obviously had been for some time but no one informed us of this and the website (checked the morning before) showed all facilities open and fully functioning. This was a bother as it was a major aspect of our choosing this location because I have a health issue that saunas can help with. The steam room had no steam in it and was a waste of time,the pool and jacuzzi water temperature was too low to be comfortable. The condition of the male changing room was dreadful,with dirty water across the floor and an overall impression of tiredness and lack of care. When I raised my concerns to the member of staff present he seemed to find it all very amusing. Eventually I gave up and went to complain at the front desk. Here things began to recover. The desk staff were more helpful and apologised. The bar area is amazing,the breakfast team were brilliant and the rest of our stay was great. However,you don't get a second chance to make a first impression and therefore I would conclude by saying it was overall 'alright' but I don't think a Crown Plaza should be aiming for just alright.

Lovely hotels & the breakfast is good too. However it’s worth finding out if there is any sort of convention on. There were two on the weekend that we stayed. This meant that the place was packed and because of the amount of people who were in the private function room, lots were spilling out into the main bar area where there was just not enough staff to cope on the evening. This left us waiting for ages to be served. Also, the “private seating area” which you get for booking certain rooms was left with dirty crockery piling up & rubbish left on the side. This was all unfortunate as we have always enjoyed staying here. We stayed in a premium room which was comfortable but definitely needed updating. The shower screen leaked at the bottom so the floor get very wet. The water pressure is really low so it was more of a sprinkle than a shower. The room had a generally tired look. Just needs updating (like the entrance hall) to fall in line with other hotels in the area. Having said all that, it is still a nice hotel & the staff are very friendly. Just ask in advance of any parties or conventions that might be taking place before booking.
