What you'll see

Welcome to Namibia! After landing at Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH), you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Windhoek for check-in at 2pm. Greet your guide and tour group in the lobby at 1pm for an afternoon tour of Windhoek, Namibia’s capital.

Visit landmarks like the Christuskirche, where stained glass windows and neo-Gothic architecture reflect the city’s colonial past, and the Alte Feste, a fortress-turned-museum offering panoramic views over Windhoek. In Katutura, street vendors line the streets and the aromas of local cuisine like kapana (grilled meat) fill the air.

Join your fellow travellers for dinner at the Stellenbosch Wine Bar, before retiring to your room for the evening.

Start with an early breakfast at the hotel before departing Windhoek for the NamibRand Nature Reserve. The drive takes you through the Khomas Hochland Highlands, where the landscape transitions from green valleys to rugged mountains. As you approach the Namib Desert, the road descends into a vast expanse of ochre plains, golden grasslands and jagged mountain ridges.

Arrive at your Sossusvlei safari camp deep in the NamibRand Nature Reserve Kwessi in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or wandering through the dune fields where the silence is broken only by the sound of shifting sands underfoot.

This evening, seize the opportunity to view or even sleep under the stars, with the Milky Way visible in stunning clarity due to the reserve’s designation as a Dark Sky Reserve.

Travel time: Driving – approx. 5.5 hours

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Wake at dawn for a light breakfast before venturing into Sossusvlei. The early morning light casts deep shadows and rich hues across the towering red sand dunes, some reaching up to 300 metres.

Explore the ghostly ‘Deadvlei’, a clay pan cracked and bleached by the sun and dotted with the skeletal remains of ancient camelthorn trees thought to be around 900 years old. These blackened trees, long dead yet perfectly preserved by the arid climate, stand like sentinels, their contorted forms casting sharp shadows across the barren earth.

Return to the lodge for a leisurely lunch and an afternoon rest, or take a dip in the pool. Dinner is served at the lodge, featuring Namibian-inspired dishes like venison and hearty stews.

Travel time: Driving – approx. six hours

After breakfast, drive through the dramatic Kuiseb Canyon, where cliffs tell the geological story of millions of years of erosion. Continue to Walvis Bay, where pink flamingos gather in shallow lagoons before arriving in Swakopmund, a coastal town where German colonial architecture meets desert landscapes.

Check into your hotel, situated right on the beachfront, for an evening at leisure.

Travel time: Driving – approx. seven hours

Breakfast

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, before a full day in Swakopmund at your leisure. Spend the day exploring its charming colonial streets, relaxing at the beach or perhaps you may like to choose an optional activity (surcharges apply), with a driver ready to transfer you to an adventure of your choosing.

Dive into the beauty of the Skeleton Coast on a Mola Mola dolphin cruise, where you can encounter dolphins, cape fur seals, leatherback turtles and even whales during the months of July to November. Speed across massive sand dunes on a hour-long quad bike adventure, or unveil the hidden wildlife of the Namib Desert alongside fascinating geology on a Living Desert dune drive.

Depart after an early breakfast for Damaraland, a region defined by vast landscapes of rocky plains and rugged mountains.

Along the way, you’ll catch sight of the towering Brandberg Mountain. Also known as ‘Fire Mountain’ due to its vivid orange hue at sunset, it rises to 2,573 meters at its highest point, Königstein (King’s Stone). The region’s star attraction is the Tsisab Ravine, home to over 45,000 ancient San rock paintings, including the famous ‘White Lady’, a depiction believed to be over 2,000 years old.

Arrive at Camp Kipwe and settle into your comfortable bungalow before enjoying dinner with your fellow travellers accompanied by the sounds of nocturnal wildlife.

Travel time: Driving – approx. six hours

Inclusions
Camp Kipwe (Bungalow) or similar
Breakfast and Dinner

After breakfast, your day begins with a visit to Burnt Mountain, located at the base of a 12-kilometre volcanic ridge. The hill, formed by solidified lava, showcases vibrant hues of red, brown, cream, and purple. As a National Monument of Namibia, it offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding terrain.

Afterward, head to the nearby Organ Pipes, a geological marvel in the Twyfelfontein area. This remarkable site features a series of vertical basalt columns that resemble the pipes of a giant organ. Formed millions of years ago through volcanic activity, the Organ Pipes stand in striking contrast to the surrounding sandstone. Take a scenic hike around the area, marveling at the hexagonal shapes of the columns.

In the evening, return to Camp Kipwe for a restful night in your bungalow, with a delicious Namibian dinner included.

Depart after breakfast for Etosha Heights Private Game Reserve, a stunning expanse of savannah and bushland located on the edge of the famous Etosha National Park. Along the way, your guide will take you to a local Himba settlement for an intimate look into the culture of one of Namibia’s indigenous groups. During your visit, you’ll learn about their community structure, spiritual beliefs and daily practices, such as herding cattle and crafting intricate jewellery.

Continue your journey to Etosha Heights Private Reserve, a 60,000-hectare reserve of vast savannahs, salt pans, woodlands and dolomite hills where you’ll spend the next two nights. Set against the backdrop of sweeping African plains, you’ll stay in well-appointed luxury rooms perfect for moments of relaxation between activities.

The reserve is also home to unique creatures like aardvark and elusive predators. You may wish to join an evening game drive for the chance to witness the nocturnal activity of the bush.
