What You’ll Love...

The Experiences – Prepare to be amazed as you discover UNESCO World Heritage sites, one of the seven wonders of the world and more

Begin this extraordinary tour with a visit to Lima’s colonial city centre, with its historic buildings surrounding the splendid Plaza Mayor. Tick Lima’s famous sites off your list including the Government Palace, Cathedral and the wondrous Convent of San Francisco with its priceless pieces of art and famed catacombs before visiting the archaeological site of Pachacamac – one of the largest religious centres in pre-Inca times.

A short flight will take you from Lima to Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire and the oldest continuously inhabited city in South America. Take in the gorgeous panoramas of rugged mountains as you travel through the roads dotted with farms and small villages, then enjoy a Peruvian lunch followed by a demonstration of the ancient Andean tradition of making textiles from alpaca wool.

Dominated by two massive Inca ruins – including an impressive fortress, the streets of the charming village of Ollantaytambo have been inhabited since the 13th century. An ancient complex of temples and terraces towering high over the valley, this village was the last stand of the Incas in their defense against the Spanish conquistadors.

Board the 360° Train - a 42-seat rail car equipped with plush seating and panoramic windows - and experience a once-in-a-lifetime train journey through the misty peaks of Peru to reach one of the seven wonders of the world: Machu Picchu.

Stand in awe as the ruins of Machu Picchu appear through the mist and retrace the steps of the Incas as you visit the spectacular “Lost City”. Listed by UNESCO as one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the Modern World' Machu Picchu is arguably the most iconic site in all of Peru (if not the Inca civilisation), get to know this location with visits to the Temple of the Sun, the House of the Priest, the Sacred Plaza and more while exploring the various compounds and witnessing the breathtaking views of the nearby peaks.

Head to Lake Titicaca and visit the Floating Uros Islands, a man-made landmass created by the reed-weaving Uros people. Learn more about how these pre-Inca custodians have managed to retain their traditions through the use of the totora reed as you travel by boat over the highest navigable lake in the world.
