Tiwi Island Retreat

With its secluded location on the western side of Bathurst Island, Tiwi Island Retreat is perfectly placed to enjoy nearby fishing adventures and Tiwi Islands cultural activities. The retreat is a 15-minute boat ride from Port Hurd. Guests must book a flight to Port Hurd Airport (YPHU) from Darwin for their included transfers to the retreat. Boat transfers are included in your package.

7-Day Change of Mind ‘No Questions Asked’ Refund Guarantee: Things don’t always work out. Our 7-day Change of Mind Guarantee is there to help. Bookings (except for cruise bookings, flights and deposit fee, if applicable, which are subject to the cancellation terms of the relevant supplier) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 14 days prior to the check-in date. Excludes flight and service fee, if applicable.

• Cancellations outside of the 7-Day Change of Mind period will not be provided, except as required by Australian Consumer Law, your local law or as otherwise provided for in the Fine Print.

Flexible Cancellation: You can cancel your booking for credit up until 21 days prior to the original check-in date. This can be done via self-service in your ‘My Escapes’ account. Your credit will be valid for 12 months from the date of cancellation. Credits are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Excludes service fee, if applicable.

Please note this does not apply to flights booked with us. Flight fulfilment is provided by the airline(s) selected at the time of finalising the booking. For your air travel, you are bound by the terms and conditions and fare rules of the selected airline(s).

Date Changes: If you need to amend your booking, you can self-service unlimited date changes in your ‘My Escapes’ account up until 21 days before your original check-in date. If you can’t find a suitable date, or still need further assistance, please contact our 24/7 customer service team. Subject to availability and surcharges.

• How to get there: Guests must fly from Darwin to Port Hurd Airport (YPHU). A 15-minute included boat transfer will then take guests to the retreat.
• Return transfers from Darwin to Port Hurd (Tiwi Islands) are not included in your package and must be booked separately. Contact info@tiwiislandretreat.com.au for more details.
• Guests must contact our booking team at bookings@luxuryescapes.com prior to arranging transfers
• Return flights from Darwin International Airport (DRW) are available on select days of the week only.
• Tiwi Island visitor and fishing permits are included in all hotel packages. Please contact hotel directly for further information.
• Daily a la carte breakfast will be served in the resort dining room or on the deck from 8am until 10am.
• Daily free-flow drinks will include select beer, wine and spirits and will be served from 12pm until 12am at the onsite bar.
• Daily sunset canapes and drinks are served at sunset on the foreshore of the retreat.
• Guests in Village Rooms will use communal unisex shower and toilet facilities, featuring two toilets and two showers.
• Welcome pack on arrival contains a Tiwi Island Retreat water bottle, a soft Turkish towel, a cap, a drink cooler and a canvas tote bag.
• The Estuary Boat Adventure is a short, guided boat ride to explore the estuary and spot wildlife.
• This is a seasonal hotel, closed each year between December and March.
• The Half-Day Ocean Blue Water fishing tour inclusion available with the Fishing Upgrade is only valid for two guests. Additional guests may participate for a surcharge of A$495 per person.
