What You’ll Love…
South Africa – From vibrant Cape Town to wild safaris
Few cities on earth have a landscape as spectacular as Cape Town. From the magnificent Table Mountain to the glistening waters of V&A Waterfront, this is a city where beauty abounds. Delve a little deeper with full-day Cape Peninsula tour where you'll discover the stunning landscape and magnetic culture – a wonderful melting pot of multi-cultural influences – as well history on the famed Robben Island.
You’ll stop off for lunch in Simon’s Town, where you can visit the penguin colonies at Boulders Beach and take a Table Mountain tour, including a cable car ride to the summit (weather permitting), where you’ll be treated to a stunning birds-eye view of the city.
Your escape includes an internal flight from Cape Town to Durban, where you’ll head to the St. Lucia estuary for a game-viewing cruise. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot Nile crocodiles, hippopotami, sea turtles and more.
Discover a natural high on your game drives at Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve and the famous Kruger National Park. Embark on safaris led by expert local guides and trackers, who will help you spot these elusive animals. Dubbed the ‘Big Five’ purely because they are the five most difficult animals in Africa to seek out on foot, there’s nothing more majestic than watching lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos in their natural habitat - it is an experience you will never forget.
In eSwatini, formerly known as Swaziland, you’ll learn all about the independent country’s fascinating traditions and customs by visiting a glassblowing factory and enjoying traditional song and dance performances from locals.
You’ll then explore beautiful Johannesburg with a drive along the Panorama Route, ticking off Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window (weather permitting) and Bourke’s Luck Potholes, a series of spectacular waterfalls. Then discover Soweto, where you’ll visit Nelson Mandela's former home and the Apartheid Museum.
Victoria Falls – Tick one of the world’s most magnificent sites off your bucket list
Spend two nights uncovering the majestic beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls – twice the size of Niagara Falls. One of the original Seven Natural Wonders of the World—and a sight that sits atop many bucket lists—this two-kilometre sheet of falling water forms where the Zambezi River plunges into a deep gorge. Seen from the ground, it’s one of the world’s most impressive waterfalls – the water’s mist and rainbows can be seen from over 20 kilometres away.
Experience the herds of buffalo and elephants making their way to the Zambezi River and embark on a unique sundowner cruise along the Zambezi River that’ll have you uncovering Cataracts and the wide abundance of flora and fauna that reside on the banks.
Ancient Egypt – Board a seven-night, five-star Nile River cruise to discover the beautiful landscape and historical pyramids
Lose yourself in Egypt’s captivating capital, Cairo, where you’ll peruse bustling bazaars, see beautiful old mosques and churches, and delve into ancient history at the Egyptian Museum; a treasure trove of priceless artefacts including the fabled Mask of Tutankhamun.
One of the last remaining Seven Wonders of the Ancient World unfolds before you at the awe-inspiring Giza pyramid complex, home to the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Great Sphinx of Giza. This incredible historic site, built by the hand of ancient Egyptians and once buried beneath the desert sweeping sands, truly defies belief.
Conclude your trip with seven nights aboard the five-star Princes MS Sarah discovering the famous river which has been the life-blood of the Egyptian people for millennia. Cruise along the Nile River and explore the ancient temples of Luxor nestled on the east bank of the river, believed to be where the kings of Egypt were crowned; discover Egypt’s best-preserved temple at Edfu, whose ancient hieroglyphs and original ceilings can still be seen to this day; explore the double Temple of Kom Ombo; mingle with the locals as you peruse the markets that line the banks and discover the riverside city of Aswan with its colossal dam.
