The Experiences – Discover Utah’s striking scenery and some of the world’s most astounding rock formations
After a night in the state’s capital, Salt Lake City, you will reach the gateway to the massive Arches National Park and to some of the state’s most famous parks, Moab - a picturesque city surrounded by red rock landscape and offering traditional hospitality. Your adventure starts right here, as Moab will be the launchpad for your hikes through Canyonlands and Arches National Parks.
Canyonlands National Park is an impressive wonderland of sculpted pinnacles, majestic mesas and arches – including one of the largest in Utah, Corona Arch. Here you will visit one of the most popular outlooks in the state, Dead Horse Point – and the park’s top attraction: The Island in the Sky - a huge, flat-topped mesa offering splendid views over the landscape.
As the name says, Arches National Park contains the world’s largest concentration of natural sandstone formations: over 2,000 arches are spread across this huge park, which covers over 310 square kilometers. Prepare to be blown away as you explore the park’s viewpoint platforms, taking you as close as possible to colossal sandstone fins, massive rock formations and soaring pinnacles. The highlight? A sunset hike taking you to Utah’s most iconic formation: Delicate Arch.
Utah’s best-kept secret is up next: the remarkable Capitol Reef National Park, a hidden treasure filled with cliffs, canyons and domes, where you will reach the famous Cassidy Arch – named after the 18th century train robber and outlaw Butch Cassidy.
Ride a UTV along the roads less travelled within the impressive Escalante and Collet Canyon. This exciting ride will take you to secluded areas that are not accessible via road, where you will admire fascinating ruins and immense sequences of sedimentary rock layers.
No trip to Utah would be complete without witnessing the spectacular beauty of the sprawling Bryce Canyon National Park. Known for its sunset-colored hoodoos, spire shaped rocks and tracts of lush forest, a visit to Bryce National Park is a true bucket-list experience. After breakfast we travel to the city of Moab, home to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks - surrounded by some of the most stunning red rock landscapes on earth. Moab’s unique combination of local hospitality and beautiful scenery, including the striking Colorado River, has made it one of the most sought-after destinations in the Southwest of the USA.
Today, we visit some of the most impressive outlooks in the Southwest with stops at Dead Horse Point State Park, for breathtaking views across the Canyonland National Park. One of the most photographed scenic vistas in the world and towering above the Colorado River, this outlook provides a spectacular panorama of Canyonlands’ sculpted pinnacles and buttes. After leaving Dead Horse Point, we enter the Canyonland National Park to visit the “Island in the Sky” – sitting atop a massive mesa, and then onto Grandview and Buck Canyon finishing with a relatively short but largely rewarding hike to the Arch.
After lunch we take an easy walk along the wide slickrock bench, beneath Bowtie Arch, and on to the base of unmistakable Corona Arch - one of the largest arches in Utah. It resembles a giant stone rainbow that you can hike under and around, tilting your head back as it looms overhead.
Late this afternoon we arrive at our upmarket lodge resort, set in the heart of the national parks surrounded by stunning red sandstone canyons and mountain ranges.
Accommodation: Hyatt Place Moab
Meals: Breakfast. Lunch, Dinner
DAY 3: ARCHES NATIONAL PARK (MOAB)
Today we visit the stunning Arches National Park, which contains the world’s largest concentration of natural sandstone arches. Although over 2,000 arches are located within the park’s 76,518 acres, the park also contains an astounding variety of other geological formations. Colossal sandstone fins, massive balanced rocks, soaring pinnacles and spires dwarf visitors as they explore the park’s viewpoints and hiking trails. A paved scenic drive takes us to many of the major viewpoints within the park and many easy trails provide opportunities to get out of the car and explore the arches up close.
Afterwards we visit the lesser known Devil’s Garden trail which overlooks a maze of fin canyons, finding hidden formations, grottos and arches along the way. The Windows trail, one of the region’s must-see trails, will have you admiring sites such as Turret Arch, North & South Window Arches and the massive Double Arch. One of the first grand areas in the park is Park Avenue with its mild one km trail which follows the base of some of the park’s gigantic features such as The Three Gossips, Queen Nefertiti, The Tower of Babel and The Courthouse.
After lunch, we return to our hotel for some down time and for an early dinner, before we head out in the late afternoon for a sunset hike to Utah’s most iconic symbol: Delicate Arch.

DAY 4: MOAB – CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK – ESCALANTE
After breakfast, we continue our journey to the incredible Capitol Reef National Park. Located in south-central Utah in the heart of red rock country, Capitol Reef National Park is a hidden treasure filled with cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges in the so called Waterpocket Fold, a geologic monocline (a wrinkle on the earth) extending almost 100 miles.
Foot trails will lead us into the narrowest part of the canyon and up to Cassidy Arch on the canyon’s north wall. The arch was named for turn of the century outlaw Butch Cassidy, who is thought to have hidden occasionally in Grand Wash. We also take the trail to Hickman Bridge - a mild but incredibly scenic trek up to a large natural arch. The trail also offers options to see other features such as a Fremont Indian pit house, its granary and other spectacular natural features. In the center of Capitol Reef, we discover a long stretch of wall that contains Fremont Indian petroglyphs and pictographs created between 600-1300 AD, offering a glimpse into how the American Indians lived in this area.
We continue onto Escalante and check into our luxury country lodge followed by dinner at the famous Hell’s Backbone Grill.

This afternoon we travel to Bryce Canyon and check into our charming hotel in the old town, located close to the park entrance.
After dinner we take in the beautiful sunset over Bryce Canyon to end an exciting day.

DAY 6: BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK
This morning we enjoy a hike through the famous Bryce Canyon. With the largest concentration of so-called Hoodoos (irregular rock columns) found anywhere on Earth, you will lose yourself in the stunning vistas, colours, and geological wonders that defy description.
It will almost feel like you have entered a magical landscape. We park on top of the canyon, and as you approach, the entire area stretches out below, full of incredible formations. Hoodoos, cliffs, mini arches and canyons painted in hues of red, orange and cream with tall pinion pines adding a splash of green. We descend into the canyon and wind through areas such as Peek-a-Boo, Wall of Windows and The Cathedral. You will be in awe of this unique landscape, unlike any place on earth.
After lunch we travel to a beautiful ranch estate located in East Zion National Park, our home for the evening.

Today we explore the Wire Pass Trail. This short tributary to Buckskin Gulch is the most scenic and direct way into the classic narrow canyon. We will plunge right into the Buckskin squeeze, where the canyon is rarely more than three meters wide and the corridor can be hundreds of meters deep. With stone walls so deep it’s a challenge to see blue skies in places, this hike will be something that you will remember forever. Via the Wire Pass trailhead, the hike is simple, walkable, and pleasant.
We stop for lunch at a local restaurant before a shuttle transfer will take us to Las Vegas airport, arriving late in the afternoon where your journey comes to an end.

This evening enjoy dinner before retiring to your luxury tent featuring its own stargazing window above your plush king-sized bed, so you can drift off to sleep as you view the millions of stars that fill Utah’s sky.
Accommodation: Zion Under Canvas
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 8: ZION NATIONAL PARK
This morning we hike The Narrows of this famous park. This area of the park is truly unique, and it was formed by erosion over millions of years, as the Virgin River sliced a deep channel through two thousand feet of sandstone. Starting at the Temple of Sinawava, we will hike upstream through the Virgin River, admiring the towering Navajo sandstone cliffs on each side of us. Each turn reveals incredible views. We are in for an unforgettable adventure here, ranked by National Geographic as no. 5 on the ‘America’s best 100 adventures’ list.
We return to our luxury camp for lunch and to rest before heading out this afternoon for a 2-hour hike to the Emerald Pools and Kayenta Trails. This mild to moderate trail leads us to three main viewpoints at each of the three pools and tall waterfalls. We walk beneath cliffs in all directions with views of Lady Mountain, The Great White Throne and Red Arch.
We return to camp this evening for a magical dinner under an endless sky of stars.
Accommodation: Zion Under Canvas
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 9: ZION NATIONAL PARK – LAS VEGAS
This morning we end our Zion adventure with a hike to Angel’s Landing*. A trip to Zion would be incomplete without hiking Angel’s Landing, consistently ranked among the world’s greatest hikes. We ascend along a steep trail which has literally been cut into the face of a vertical cliff. One third of the way up, the trail passes into a cool grotto and then up the switch backs known as Walter’s Wiggles. Pausing at Scout Lookout for the first scenic viewpoint, we push on to the top. We hike along a fin with 1,000’ drops. Hip high chains are installed along the more exposed sections to help you feel more secure. You’ll need all the memory your camera can hold today!
Following this we take the Big Bend trail, a short trail along a section of the Virgin River with huge views of the towering cliffs overhead before returning to camp for lunch.
This afternoon, we take our final hikes in Zion National Park along Sand Bench Trail - a mild trail that follows the Virgin River downstream through rock and trees with the cliffs of the main Zion corridor towering overhead, and the Court of the Patriarchs - one of the more dramatic areas of the park where we follow a hidden trail that slices into the heart of these massive cliffs.
Following our hikes, we wil be transferred to Las Vegas, arriving late this afternoon to the airport.
*Please Note: Angel’s Landing is a challenging hike. The hike to Scout Lookout requires a moderate level of fitness. Continuing the final 500m to the top of Angel’s Landing requires a high level of fitness with step climbs.
