Portland Roads - Sailing the Whitsundays - 2018
Getting to the Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach is easy. Virgin, Jetstar and Tiger Air all fly into the Whitsundays Coast Airport in Proserpine.
Most capital cities have direct flights and those that don’t have connecting flights through Brisbane.
Flying into Hamilton Island is also an option with most airlines. From Proserpine, it is a 30-minute transfer to Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach via shuttle, limo, taxi or transfer company. Booking details will be provided in your welcome letter. From Hamilton Island, it is a 45-minute ferry transfer, with bookings made directly with Cruise Whitsundays.

Valid for travel from 1 July 2018 – 31 January 2020 (bookings must be made before 30 June 2019).
This package is for sailing experience only. Flights are not included and need to be purchased separately.
Please note that the catamaran is hired to you on a ‘bare boat’ basis, which means the charter does not include a skipper, a sail guide or any provisions or services such as airport or marina transfers, fuel, fees for mooring/berthing, Environment Management Charges or food onboard.
Once you have confirmed your dates you will receive a welcome letter from the team at Portland Roads. This will give confirmation of your booking and helpful information for your holiday. 45 days prior to charter you will receive your hire agreement, pre-charter notes and crew forms. You will be required to complete your Crew Forms 45 days prior to sailing.
You will board the boat at 9am on your chosen day of departure and will set sail within two hours of boarding to actively sail through your briefing of four/five-hours. The boat must be returned on the final day of hire at 5pm coming in via the fuel wharf at 3pm.
Check Availability: To confirm your dates of stay at purchase, click on ‘Check Availability’ and select your preferred package. Use the calendar to browse and select available dates.
Buy Now Book Later: If you want to secure this offer and don’t know when you want to travel please select ‘Buy Now & Book Later’. This will secure your package and give you the flexibility to choose your travel dates - within the book by and validity period and subject to availability. To select dates post purchase, simply select ‘My Escapes’ under the ‘My Account’ tab and follow the prompts.

Within 7 days of purchase we’ll happily provide a full refund on cancellation of your escape (so long as you don’t have a confirmed booking/stay in the next 14 days).
Can I change my check-in date post-purchase: Once you have purchased your package and received confirmation your dates cannot be changed without contacting the team at Portland Roads directly. This decision is strictly at the discretion of Portland Roads and subject to availability and the terms specified in your welcome letter, so please ensure you have selected your intended travel dates.

Due West package is valid for six people.
Ruby Sunday, Southern Man, Portland Roads and Lucy packages are valid for eight people. Both Portland Roads and Lucy can have up-to 10 guests, and whilst 8 guest is ideal and preferred for maximum comfort, an additional 2 guests can be catered for with additional bedding in a drop down double berth in the saloon – additional charges will apply: AU$60 per person per sailing day (ie. $360 per extra crew member).
No additional guests can be accommodated on Due West, Ruby Sunday or Southern Man.
Book two sail weeks back to back and receive an extra night free.
