The Hotel – Luxury resort with everything included for a fun-filled ski escape
Seeing the incredible potential of the slopes in this extraordinary resort, the premier hotel brand Lotte set about creating a ski resort like no other. With luxurious, mountain-view rooms, a gorgeous spa, a natural hot spring onsen, three restaurants offering Japanese, Italian and international plates, six bars, lounges and cafes, and exhilarating activities – all coupled with epic skiing and snowboarding on fresh Japow – it’s fair to say their vision has been fulfilled.
Make the most of that highly sought-after Japanese powder with skiing and snowboarding, suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. On clear days you’ll even see all the way to the ocean. Hone your skills with private lessons or kids’ group tuition at the resort’s ski school, where lessons are held by English-speaking, international instructors — rare for Japan. Home to Myoko’s longest run, Lotte Arai Resort has Japan’s biggest in-bounds off-piste ski area and also offers some above-treeline terrain in wide-open powder bowls (also rare for a Japanese resort), along with some controlled off-piste skiing and snowboarding. The resort has an impressive 951 metres of vertical descent, or, if you don’t mind a hike, make your way up the ridgeline to Mount Ohgenashi and Mount Kogenashi and reach 1,101 metres of Japan’s finest Japow. For a unique adventure, hit the slopes at night – a truly atmospheric experience.
One thing’s for certain: you won’t ever find yourself short of things to do at Lotte Arai. Admire the snowy scenery as you whizz down the 1,501-metre zip line, on a zip-tour along one of Asia’s longest lines (additional charges apply), go tubing down the slopes and try your hand at rock climbing and trampolining at the Lotte Arai Playground.
Your handpicked inclusions – Daily breakfast, lift passes, onsen access, a luxurious one-time dinner and more
Daily breakfast at either the all-day dining restaurant or the Japanese restaurant is included in your package, so you’ll be well set up for busy days of skiing. You’ll also benefit from one dinner per person during your stay. Choose to dine at either Japanese restaurant Asahi or Western eatery The Plate. Asahi boasts local delicacies such as sushi, sashimi, roast meats and miso soup, while The Plate has all your favourite Western treats available, including pasta, burgers, seafood, desserts and more.
A four-day lift pass and 30% ski rental discount means you’ll be hitting the slopes before you know it.
Enjoy two hours of Lotte Arai Playground access per day — with fun activities like bouldering and trampolining, it’s a great way to finish a day on the slopes and is bound to keep the kids entertained.
Need to chill out? Enjoy daily access to the resort’s swimming pool and Hoshizora natural hot springs, whose lightly alkaline waters from 1,750 metres underground contribute to beautiful skin.
Plus, enjoy the convenient complimentary shuttle bus between Jōetsumyōkō Station and the resort.
