Heron Island Resort

Getting to Heron Island is easy. Fly to Gladstone, Queensland. Seaplanes and helicopters depart Gladstone for Heron Island daily (subject to tide times). A launch service also departs Gladstone Marina for Heron Island on scheduled days (excluding Tuesdays, Thursdays and Christmas Day). Click here for more information.

Airport transfers are not included in your package. The cost of boat transfers is approximately AU$69 per person each way (please note this will increase to A$75 per person each way from 1 April 2020). Seaplane transfers cost from A$349 per person each way (please note the Seaplane transfer is unavailable until approximately 1 April 2020) and helicopter transfers cost from A$530 per person each way. Feel Like Changing Your Dates? No Worries…

You can make one (1) change to the date of your booking provided the change is made no less than 45 days before the start of your original booking date and provided you choose dates which are of an equal value and are available. Any change to booking dates is subject to and must be made online in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Turtle Room – Packages valid for two adults

Maximum Room Capacity: The maximum room capacity is two adults. No extra guests can be accommodated.

Reef Room – Packages valid for two adults

Maximum Room Capacity: The maximum room capacity is three guests.

Extra Guest Policy: One additional guest (aged 13 years and over) may stay for a surcharge of A$105 per night, sleeping on existing bedding (day bed) with daily breakfast, two dinners and snorkelling equipment hire only. Payable directly to the resort.

Child Policy: One child (aged 12 years and under) may stay free of charge, sleeping on existing bedding with breakfast, two dinners and snorkelling equipment hire only.

Baby Policy: One baby (aged two years and under) may stay free of charge and will count towards maximum occupancy. A cot can be provided by the resort free of charge.

Reef Family Room & Turtle Family Room – Packages valid for two adults and two children aged 12 years and under

Maximum Room Capacity: The maximum room capacity is five people.

Extra Guest Policy: Up to three additional guests (aged 13 years and over) may stay. The first two adults may stay for a surcharge of A$105 per person, per night, sleeping on existing bedding with breakfast, two dinners and snorkelling equipment hire only. A third adult may stay for a surcharge of A$180 per night, sleeping on a rollaway bed with breakfast, two dinners and snorkelling equipment hire only. Payable directly to the resort.

Child Policy: Up to three children (aged 12 years and under) may stay. The first two children may stay free of charge sleeping on existing bedding (twin single beds) with breakfast, two dinners and snorkelling equipment hire only. A third child may stay for a surcharge of A$75 per night, sleeping on a rollaway bed with breakfast, two dinners and snorkelling equipment hire only. Payable directly to the resort.

Baby Policy: One infant (aged two years and under) may stay free of charge and will count towards maximum occupancy. A cot can be provided by the resort free of charge.

Beachside Room – Packages valid for two adults

Maximum Room Capacity: The maximum room capacity is four people.

Extra Guest Policy: Up to two additional guests (aged 13 years and over) may stay for a surcharge of A$105 per person, per night, sleeping on existing bedding with breakfast, two dinners and snorkelling equipment hire only. Alternatively, a rollaway bed is available for a surcharge of A$180 per person, including breakfast, two dinners and snorkelling equipment hire only. Payable directly to the resort.

Child Policy: Up to two children (aged 12 years and under) may stay free of charge sleeping on existing bedding (day beds) with breakfast, two dinners and snorkelling equipment hire only.

Baby Policy: One infant (aged two years and under) may stay free of charge and will count towards maximum occupancy. A cot can be provided by the resort free of charge.

Connecting rooms are not available.

Please Note: Boat transfers to the resort do not run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Transfers are not included in your package, please contact the Reservations Team on 1800 875 343 to organise your transfers.

Heron Island Resort is a secluded resort and mobile coverage is not available. Wi-Fi is available for an additional charge in some area of the resort, the connection might be intermittent at times.

Dinner on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights is à la carte. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday are themed buffet dinners. A seafood platter is available on select evenings at an additional cost and must be pre-ordered.

Dining inclusions do not include beverages (unless otherwise stated). Menus are subject to change without notice.

Semi-Submersible I-Spy and sunset cruise are weather dependent and operate five days a week. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash, refunds or credit elsewhere.

Bookings are required for activities.
