Your cruise departs from the Port of Piraeus at 5.30pm on Day 2 and returns to the Port of Piraeus at 6am on Day 9. Your boarding time will be advised closer to your travel dates, please ensure you arrive in time for departure.
Roundtrip airport transfers are not included in your package. Roundtrip transfers between the cruise ship and Grand Hyatt Athens are not included. Please plan accordingly.

Day 1: Athens, Greece
Welcome to Athens, the capital city at the heart of the influential and once powerful Ancient Greece. Today, you’ll find many still-standing monuments wrought of marble and limestone, and dating back to the fifth century, dotting the hills.
Check in at the Grand Hyatt Athens for some rest and relaxation before your journey begins. Take a dip in the rooftop pool while gazing out across Piraeus, a seaport municipality to the east boasting a mix of classical ruins and vivacious modern life. For dinner, you might choose to step into The Grand by Interni Restaurant upstairs and savour the fusion of European and Asian flavours before turning in for a luxurious night’s sleep.

Day 2: Athens
Today marks the beginning of your journey to ancient worlds and lively cities across the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Spend the morning at leisure, or opt to join a tour group this morning to explore the treasure trove of Athens. In a single day, you can easily climb the hill of the Acropolis, wonder at the Parthenon, join modern Athenians in Constitution Square and see the sights of old.
This evening, board the Azamara Journey, departing from the Port of Piraeus at 6pm. Watch the world go by from the deck of your luxury hotel at sea as the sun sets over the horizon.

Day 3: Santorini
Cobalt-domed churches, fascinating history and island-fresh fare await as you sail into breathtaking Santorini. The city of Akrotiri on the southern shore fuels speculation that this isle could be the fabled Atlantis.
Today, embark on your choice of off-boat experiences (additional costs apply). For those feeling fit, join a walking tour past some of the island’s highlights – witnessing remains of the Bronze Age civilisation that once thrived here – or traverse the clifftop streets of Oia on your own. Board a traditional Greek sailing vessel and voyage through volcanic landscapes, uncover an ancient excavation site or taste your way through the fruits of a local vineyard, distillery and farm.

Day 4: Agios Nikolaos
Dock on Crete’s northeastern coast this morning. Agios Nikolaos, known for its stunning coastal views, poses a unique blend between quaint fishing village and stylish resort town. The streets boast a variety of dining, shopping, and nightlife options, making this port a versatile destination. During an optional on-shore excursion, you might choose to set out for the beaches of Plaka, taste the rich oils pressed from olives grown in the Vassilakis Estate olive groves or visit the Archaelogical Museum of Heraklion and the ruins of the Palace of Minos beyond (additional costs apply).

Day 6: Kusadasi, Turkiye – Ephesus
Today you will sail into the picturesque town of Kusadasi, gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed ruins of Ephesus. One of the most legendary cities of ancient times, you can join an excursion as your own expense and travel inland to immerse yourself in this former Greek banking and trading centre as you uncover sites such as the Great Theatre, the Temple of Hadrian, and the Temple of Artemis, another of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. For a change of pace, you might also opt to join an excursion through the flora and fauna of Turkiye’s coastal landscape or visit a local vineyard (additional costs apply).

Day 7: Kusadasi, Turkiye – Samos, Greece
Sail between countries on crystal seas aboard Azamara Journey’s floating oasis. Perhaps pay visit to The Sanctum Spa onboard and spend the morning relaxing as you journey to Samos.
This Greek island sits in the eastern Aegean Sea and is known both for its ancient philosophical society and sweet Muscat wine. If you wish to venture out today, you may visit two UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites – the city of Pythagoreion, named after Samos’ famous native philosopher, and the Temple of Hera (additional costs apply).

Day 8: Mykonos
Dazzled by the Aegean sun, arrive at Mykonos, the ‘Island of the Winds’, this morning. Perhaps choose to explore Cycladic stone alleys, whitewashed homes and pristine beaches. Visit the openminded Elia Beach to the south or sail to the nearby isle of Rhenia on a traditional fishing boat for a day swimming in calm aquamarine waters (additional costs apply).
This evening, return to the Azamara Journey and pay a visit to the Sunset Bar for cocktails, lounge by the pool or let Azamara’s Signature Singers & Dancers entertain you in the Cabaret Lounge.

Day 9: Athens
Arrive back in beautiful Athens at 6am this morning and wave a final goodbye to your cruise vessel. This afternoon, check into your stylish room at the Grand Hyatt Athens. Your epic voyage comes to an end after breakfast. Check out of your accommodation, and make your own way to the airport for your next adventure.

- All cruise bookings have a 48-hour ‘Change of Mind Guarantee’ where any monies paid (less unrecoverable costs) within 48 hours of the initial purchase date will be refunded – no questions asked.
- Bookings outside the 48-hour ‘Change of Mind’ window will be non-refundable and non-changeable.

Age Restrictions
- Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied, in the same or connecting cabin, by a parent or other responsible adult over the age of 21 for the duration of the voyage.
- Infants under 12 months cannot be accommodated onboard.
Travel Insurance
- Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Luxury Escapes/Scoopon recommends purchasing travel insurance as soon as possible after purchasing this package.
Passports & Visas
- A visa may be required. It is the traveller’s responsibility to ensure they’re holding a current visa for the countries they’re visiting. If the traveller is on a non-Australian passport, a valid re-entry visa may be required.
Important: Please start arranging your visa at least 6-8 weeks prior to departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours and processing time.
- A valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months beyond your return travel date is required for all passengers (including children and infants).
Health & Vaccinations
- Travellers are advised to check recommended vaccinations with their local health professional at least 45 days prior to departure, as some vaccinations require 30 days or more to be effective.
- Proof of vaccination is not usually required unless you are coming from an infected area.
- Proof of Yellow Fever vaccinations is required for entry into some countries, in particular in Africa. Please check with your health professional that you hold the appropriate vaccination entry requirements for your destination.

Fitness Requirements

- Travellers acknowledge that they are required to have a good level of health and fitness to undertake any activities in this package. Further, travellers acknowledge and agree that neither Luxury Escapes nor the third-party provider will be able to provide medical or other assistance in the event that they are unable to complete any aspect of the tour as a result of their health or physical condition (nor is Luxury Escapes liable for any loss, damage, expense, injury or death arising from such).
Surcharges
Any prices quoted exclude specific costs/measures which may be introduced at a later stage as a result of Government changes due to COVID-19 health and safety restrictions. Our trusted third-party suppliers will inform guests of these changes as soon as possible.
Deposits
The deposit amount is 30% and the final payment date is due 120 days prior to embarkation. Please note: other deposit options may be available on your package which differ from the above and which will be outlined in the ‘fine print’ and payment section of the specific package.
