Located within the verdant grounds of Taronga Zoo, the Wildlife Retreat offers an unparalleled experience for nature lovers of all ages. The hotel is a 15-minute ferry ride from Sydney CBD, placing guests in close proximity to the city’s vibrant attractions. The hotel is located approximately a 30-minute drive from Sydney Airport (SYD). Airport transfers are not included in your package, please plan accordingly.

- Daily buffet breakfast is available at Me-Gal Restaurant from 7am – 10am and includes hot and cold food and barista made coffee.
- Guests are not permitted to touch or hold any of the animals, including during animal encounters.
- For the koala and conservation experience and zoo walks, an itinerary will be provided to guests on arrival and you will be able to select your preferred day and time.
- The night-time guided tour takes place after zoo opening hours. If you choose to have dinner before your tour at Me-Gal restaurant, please allow two hours to enjoy your meal before heading out to explore.
- The Sanctuary Tour runs daily between 3pm – 5pm. You will be assigned a tour time at check-in. If you have a preferred time please contact the hotel directly to request. Sanctuary tours occur daily and can be booked for multiple nights during your stay, subject to availability. Please meet at N’Gurra Lounge at least five minutes before your tour departure time.
- The guided morning zoo walk takes place before zoo opening hours.
- Guests will have full access to Taronga Zoo during their stay within opening hours. Your room key will give you access from a private entrance within the Wildlife Retreat.
- Complimentary self-parking is accessible 24 hours a day, and you are able to come and go as you please. However, you will need to provide your parking ticket to reception to validate your exit each time.
- It is recommended to book Me-Gal for lunch or dinner prior to arrival. Me-Gal is open for lunch Thursday to Sunday, and open for dinner every night.
- A physical credit card must be presented on check-in for a A$100 fully refundable pre-authorisation deposit for any incidentals during the stay.
- Balloons and confetti are not allowed on the premises as they pose a significant risk to wildlife on site.
- The Wildlife Retreat is a non-smoking property. Smoking is only permitted outside of the site boundary.
Blackout Dates & Surcharges: A non-refundable surcharge per room, per night may apply, payable at the time of booking. Dates and prices are identified in the Booking Calendar. Blackout dates may apply.
7-Day Change of Mind ‘No Questions Asked’ Refund Guarantee: Things don’t always work out. Our 7-day Change of Mind Guarantee is there to help. Bookings (except for cruise bookings, flights and deposit fee, if applicable, which are subject to the cancellation terms of the relevant supplier) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 14 days prior to the check-in date. Excludes flight and service fee, if applicable.
- Cancellations outside of the 7-Day Change of Mind period will not be provided, except as required by Australian Consumer Law, your local law or as otherwise provided for in the Fine Print.
