About the Tour
Your tour takes you to:
Vancouver
Whistler
Clearwater
Jasper
Banff
Kelowna
Vancouver

Venture across Western Canada’s greatest landscapes on this small-group coach tour, connecting nature and First Nations experiences in one seamless week. Departing Vancouver and returning via the Okanagan Valley, you’ll travel the Sea-to-Sky Highway, the Icefields Parkway, Rogers Pass and the Coquihalla – all among the finest drives in the world. Hear from your expert guide throughout as they bring the geology, wildlife and history of each region to life.

Two premium experiences are included that most independent travellers pay separately for. The Columbia Icefield Glacier Adventure takes you out onto the Athabasca Glacier by snowcoach – one of the most accessible glaciers in North America – and the Banff Gondola delivers panoramic views across six mountain ranges from the summit of Sulphur Mountain. Both are among the Canadian Rockies’ most sought-after experiences.

The cultural thread runs just as strong. A guided visit to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre in Whistler opens the tour with an introduction to the stories and traditions of two First Nations, while a winery tour and tasting in the Okanagan Valley closes it out on a fittingly relaxed note. With park passes and daily breakfast included, this is Western Canada done right.

What you’ll see
Vancouver, Whistler

Hello and welcome to Vancouver! Your journey through the nation’s western expanse begins at Canada Place, where your deluxe coach heads north along the Sea-to-Sky Highway. Two waterfall stops break the journey at Shannon Falls and Brandywine Falls before arriving at Whistler Village for a guided walking tour of this compact, European-style mountain town.

The afternoon is free to explore or add on an activity at your own expense. Nearby, you’ll find zip-trekking, e-biking and the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. After dark, Vallea Lumina is worth considering for those interested in a multi-media night walk through the forest.

Travel time: Driving – approx. two hours

Inclusions
Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa (The Hilton Room) or similar
Clearwater

Begin with breakfast at the hotel before heading to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, where a cultural ambassador welcomes the group with a drum song and guides you through the museum’s collection of artefacts, artworks and stories.

From Whistler, the coach passes through Pemberton and Lillooet with a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint. The afternoon is spent through the British Columbia interior – a vast, arid shrubland dotted with wineries, former gold mine towns, and the rushing Thompson River – before arriving in Clearwater for the evening.

Travel time: Driving – approx. six hours

Inclusions
Best Western Plus Gateway to the Falls (Guest Room) or similar
Breakfast and Lunch
Jasper

After breakfast, the morning is spent in Wells Gray Provincial Park, one of British Columbia’s most underrated natural areas. Helmcken Falls is the centrepiece as one of Canada’s tallest waterfalls, with Spahats Creek Falls or Dawson Falls also on the route depending on conditions.

On the border with Alberta, the drive north passes the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Mount Robson. Your guide will point out the mountain, its summit often wreathed in cloud, as it towers over the forests below. Check-in to your Jasper hotel with the evening at leisure. The Jasper Planetarium offers an optional stargazing session for those keen to make the most of the dark national park skies.

Travel time: Driving – approx. 3.5 hours

Inclusions
Forest Park Hotel, Tonquin Inn or similar
Breakfast

Start the morning at Maligne Canyon, where a series of bridges and trails thread through a narrow limestone gorge carved over thousands of years, with ancient fossils visible in the rock walls and waterfalls dropping into the canyon below.

From there, the coach continues to Maligne Lake where the azure waters are fed by three glaciers visible from the shore. Spirit Island sitting at the far end of the lake and an optional boat cruise to Spirit Island is available at additional cost. The afternoon is free to explore Jasper at leisure.

Please note: Maligne Canyon sustained damage in the 2024 Jasper wildfire and an alternative stop will be arranged if it remains closed.

Inclusions
Forest Park Hotel, Tonquin Inn or similar
Breakfast
Banff

Today’s drive south along the Icefields Parkway is reason enough to take this tour. Widely regarded as one of the world’s top five scenic drives, the route passes through a continuous sweep of glaciers, turquoise lakes and peaks before reaching the Columbia Icefield.

Here, your included Ice Explorer Glacier Adventure loads you onto an all-terrain snowcoach and out onto the Athabasca Glacier – one of the most accessible in North America. Time permitting, Bow Lake and Peyto Lake are stops on the way south before arriving at Banff for another two-night stay.

Travel time: Driving – approx. 3.5 hours

Inclusions
Canalta Lodge (Standard Room) or similar
Breakfast

After your first breakfast in Banff, head to the Banff Gondola for an included trip to the summit of Sulphur Mountain. Up top, panoramic views stretch across six mountain ranges and into the Bow Valley below. A short coach tour of the Banff townsite follows, taking in Bow Falls, the Hoodoos rock formations and the landmark Banff Springs Hotel.

The afternoon opens up for independent exploration as Banff Avenue’s shops, galleries and cafes are all walkable from the hotel. If you book ahead, optional activities including e-biking, horseback riding, canoeing on the Bow River and guided hiking are pure memory makers.

Inclusions
Canalta Lodge (Standard Room) or similar

Kelowna

After breakfast and checkout, the morning heads to Lake Louise – said to be one of the world’s most photographed lakes for its impossibly blue hues.

A visit to Moraine Lake may be possible depending on road conditions, before the coach heads west through the dramatic Rogers Pass. Feel the Selkirk Mountains close in on both sides in anticipation of the Okanagan Valley opening out on the other side.

Check in to your downtown Kelowna hotel with the evening free to explore the waterfront and the town’s dining scene.

Travel time: Driving – approx. six hours

If the hotel for your tour changes, this will be independent of your pre- or post-tour accommodation booking. In this instance, change fees may apply on your pre- or post-tour accommodation. If you choose to change, change fees can be found in your ‘My Escapes’.

For pre- and post-tour accommodation bookings, you may be required to check out of your room and check in again on the first or last day of your tour. You will need to confirm these details directly with the hotel.
