Experience the journey of a lifetime on a physical and spiritual expedition that revisits Australian history with a nine night/ten day trek including international return flights, through Papua New Guinea's Kokoda Trail for only $3,999 per person, valued up to $5,450

The Kokoda Trail is a challenging 96 kilometre trek through the Owen Stanley Range in Papua New Guinea and is the location of the 1942 World War II battle between the Japanese and Australian forces

This physical and spiritual journey is a challenge for advanced trekkers and training is required as the trek requires up to 8 hours a day of walking through dense rainforest and up steep mountains reaching a height of 2,190 metres as the trail passes around the peak of Mount Bellamy

Tour Highlights

Begin your tour in Papua's New Guinea's capital city of Port Moresby where your Australian guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for refreshments and a delicious welcome dinner

Wake up and take an early morning domestic flight to Popondetta or Kokoda airfield to begin your trek, you'll then walk up to Kokoda village to meet local villagers as well as local porters and support staff. Here, you'll also be able to visit the remarkable Kokoda museum and monuments and memorials before having lunch

Long days of trekking follow, with highlights including paying your respects at the Isurava war memorial, inspecting Japanese trenches, ammunition and a mountain gun site, ascending to Mt Bellamy - the highest point on the track, and viewing the Myola 1 airfield, hospital site and Myola ammunition dump

The last few challenging days of the trek bring trekkers to the scene of a ferocious battle at Mission Ridge and Brigade Hill and over the Maguli Range to another scene of vicious fighting at Ioribaiwa Ridge, followed by a stop at Ua-Ule creek rest house for a refreshing swim in the rock pools

On the last day of the trek, trekkers will walk shoulder to shoulder together under the famous Kokoda arch before enjoying a well-deserved lunch whilst reflecting on the last eight days. Trekkers will then board a bus to the Bomana war cemetery to pay homage to the brave men who lost their lives on the track before heading back to the hotel in Port Moresby for a presentation dinner
