Arrive in time for a packed lunch – and perhaps a swim – before taking a self-guided nature walk along the coast back to Marahau.

Availability:

  • Available every day: 8.30am to 4.30pm (approximately)
  • Departure/Return Point: 8.30am pick up from the bus shelter at side of the National Park Entrance, Marahau car park. Parking free of charge
  • Please note: if you are making your own way to Kaiteriteri, it is a short 20-minute drive from Marahau. You will need to check in at the Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures ticket booth by 9.30am with departures at 10am

Important:

  • The skippered sailing component of tour will run for approximately 2.5 hours
  • The walking component of the tour can run for up to four hours
  • There are no shops or cafes visited once on board in the Abel Tasman National Park; it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that meals are included in their chosen tour or they have packed their own
  • If you have your own vehicle, a morning courtesy shuttle is available between Marahau Information Kiosk at the Abel Tasman National Park entrance (where you will end your walk) and Kaiteriteri Beach (where your sailing departs). This allows you to take as long as you like to complete your freedom walk back to Marahau, as your vehicle will be waiting for you at the end of the track
  • Please allow up to 8 hours for this experience, including travelling time

  • Cruises are weather dependent and may be cancelled at the discretion of Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures for passenger and crew safety
  • Itinerary is subject to change without notice depending on weather and sailing conditions
  • Vessel is subject to change depending on availability
  • Child rate applies for children aged 5–14. Children aged 4 and under are considered to be infants and are free of charge but are still required to be listed when booking
  • Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed
