• Bike gloves
• Your personal helmet (if you’d prefer to use your own)
• Closed shoes – running shoes, or sneakers, for example
• Shorts or tight-fitting pants (so they don’t get caught up in moving parts)
• T-shirt or similar for when you’re riding
• Fleece and a light waterproof jacket for when you’re resting
• Sunglasses and sunscreen
• Depending on the weather and season, you may also want to wear thermal leggings and bring a woollen hat and gloves – it can be quite cold going through tunnels or when you stop!

Important:

• This trail is suitable for riders of all levels, and can be lengthened or shortened to suit you. 18/37km of easy/moderate riding
• It can get windy out on the coast (this is Wellington, after all!). If in doubt, we’d recommend taking an eBike, which are great against the winds
• You will ride approximately 18/37km, with a riding time of 3–4 hours (total duration 6 hours)

Terms & Conditions:

• Itinerary is subject to change depending on availability, weather and road conditions
• Wildfinder will get in touch with you the day before the event is due to take place, should the booking not be going ahead due to poor weather. If you’ve supplied a NZ-based phone number, they will try to call you on this, but if they can’t reach you or you’ve supplied an international number, they will default to the email address supplied – please remember to keep an eye on your inbox! The decision-making process around weather and confirmations is as follows:
  • If the weather looks fine and you are happy to proceed, you will go ahead with the booking
  • If the weather looks a bit dubious (i.e. may be a bit uncomfortable, but not unsafe) they will discuss this with you and make a joint decision as to whether you go ahead
  • If the weather looks awful (i.e. unsafe, or totally miserable), the vendor will call the booking off
• Please note: There is no pressure on the customer at any point to go ahead with a booking in weather that they are uncomfortable with, and there are no charges for any cancellations due to weather. All decisions are based on objective safety criteria and processes, tempered by experience and common sense, and are reviewed frequently
• Wildfinder cannot be held accountable for any tour cancellations or changes caused by weather conditions, road hazards, vehicle malfunctions, or other unexpected circumstances that may impede the scheduled tour. Wildfinder retains the right to cancel or alter any trip due to uncontrollable factors, including but not limited to weather conditions, mechanical issues, as well as limited or unavailable parking on-site
• All riders must be wearing suitable helmets at all times.
• All riders must familiarise themselves with, and adhere to, New Zealand road rules before riding on public roads. More info can be found at New Zealand Transport Association (NZTA) Cycling Rules
